My reservation was made through the Four Seasons Hotel. The total cost of dinner was $160.82 including tip but the restaurant charged me EXTRA $200. I saw I was charged for $360.82 INSTEAD of $160.82. This is NOT an honest mistake. There is no legitimate reason why the charge will be that high. Luckily I pay attention to all of my charges on my bank account. Please fix the payment to the original charge of $134.82. I don’t appreciate that kind of behavior. I’ve been dining in plenty of restaurants and this is the first time this happens to me. This is absolutely ridiculous and wrongful behavior.

We truly had an amazing time celebrating my fiancé’s birthday. Everything from the food to the service and the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. We are so grateful for all the effort that went into making our day special. It truly created an unforgettable memory for both of us, and we appreciate the joy we experienced there.

I've been here a few times and each experience was pleasant. If you're looking for a more traditional dining experience similar to a one star, this is likely your best option for seafood in Boston.

It's not a comfortable restaurant. The tables are pretty close to each other and small. cero of privacy when you want to talk. Eat and get out!

Absolutely wonderful experience from beginning to end. I was surprised to find they carried gluten free dinner rolls and were very Celiac aware. This is a fantastic experience with a great wine selection for a special night out.

This place has beautiful decor and the food was fantastic! The service could use some improvement tho.

The service felt very rushed and the staff the cleaned our table so very fast we thought they were going to drop plates and food on us. We were also disappointed to find out the kitchen closed at 9pm on Thursday evening (“Friday Junior”) even though we waited 20 minutes to even get any kind of service.

If I could give 10/5 stars I would. This dining experience was by far the best we had on our weekend trip to Boston. The service was personal and intimate (and we were at the bar!). The food was amazing, the wine director picked us out exactly what we wanted, and for dessert they recommended a wine pairing and it was just the cherry on top of a perfect evening. We will most definitely be back on our next trip to Boston! Special shoutout to our hostess Trey, server Brooke and the wine director Evan for a seriously magical evening!

Ostra in Boston is an exceptional dining experience that I can’t recommend highly enough. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, setting the perfect tone for the evening.

We started with the appetizers: I opted for the grilled octopus, while my date chose the ricotta gnocchetti. The grilled octopus was perfectly tender, with a delicate char that elevated its flavor profile—a standout start that promised a memorable meal. The ricotta gnocchetti was also a hit, delightfully pillowy with just the right touch of richness.

For the main course, I had the swordfish tomahawk special. It was impeccably cooked, moist and flavorful, with a presentation that underscored Ostra’s attention to detail. My date's choice, the monkfish, was equally impressive, balancing savory and subtle notes with skill. The combination of textures and flavors in both dishes highlighted the kitchen’s expertise and creativity.

We paired our meals with the Amber Elixir, a drink that added a nuanced sweetness to the savory dishes. It complemented the food beautifully without overpowering it.

Beyond the cuisine, the service at Ostra was impeccable. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in ensuring we had a great experience.

The only caveat? It was undoubtedly an expensive night out. However, for those seeking a special occasion meal that delivers on every front—from food and drink to service—Ostra is worth the splurge.

Overall, Ostra delivered an outstanding dining experience, with dishes that were as delicious as they were thoughtfully prepared. It’s a place I’d revisit for future celebrations or any time I’m in the mood for an unforgettable meal.

This is the kind of place you want to give 6 stars! Impeccable service, beautiful and delicious food, with great drinks and extensive wine list. The atmosphere is perfectly curated. Everything here is thoughtful and well done. We only had two nights in town and I am thankful I have them one of the evenings!

Kid-friendliness: Not someplace for kids. The atmosphere is quite and romantic. The menu is sophisticated

Honestly, I think this restaurant is the most hearty one among all Boston high-end restaurants. The dishes were big. We (two adults and two teenagers) ordered four main dishes and two appetizers which turned out to be too much for us. The food was so fresh and cooked carefully. The salty crusted branzino can be shared by four people actually. If you have a group like us, the branzino and a paella actually make it just the right way. Overall, it is great!
