Several weeks ago I made reservations over the phone directly with the Omni Parker House restaurant for 2023 Thanksgiving lunch for my family at 11:30 am. Today I received a call to contact the restaurant. Upon calling the restaurant about my prior reservation, Debbie informed me that lunch was being served on Thanksgiving from noon to 4, so our 11:30 reservations had been canceled. When I asked her to please move our reservation to noon, the closest time to our original reservations of 11:30, I was told that noon was unavailable & we would have to schedule a later time. While we did reschedule for 1, we had to cancel our afternoon tour reservations since we had been moved from an 11:30 dining time to a 1 pm dining time, an hour & a half later & would not make the 2nd previously scheduled event. It seems that with standing reservations for 11:30, there would have been no issue with moving us to the next closest time at noon. Hoping that this unexpectedly poor customer service is not an indication of the quality of service & food we will experience on Thanksgiving.
Very great people!

We opted for breakfast here at the oldest hotel in Boston with so much history. It was excellent. The restaurant feels like an old cruise ship in style. The portions are large, tasty & considering the venue surprisingly good value. We had wonderful service from everyone & thoroughly enjoyed our little journey back in time!
Old world charm at its best ! We went in to see where JFK proposed to Jackie and we were not disappointed! This hotel brings you back in time , so happy they haven’t had any major renovations as it is an historic landmark. We had the Boston Pie - delicious and servers were superb !
This was such a disappointment. They have been refilling our coffee and orange juice nonstop and never even got to order. We asked the lady if we could put our order in and she said “he will take it” meanwhile it’s one waiter running around a bunch of tables. Not once did he come up and ask what we wanted to eat. We ended up sitting through 5 cups of coffee later and the waiter never came up to take our order. So we left! What a shame. Get more waiters.
I have always wanted to go here but what a disappointment. For this being such a nice restaurant you would think that your waiter would stop by your table every once in a while to see if you needed anything, but nope, not happening here with this waiter. In fact if a waiter is busy you see them attending to other tables but we just didn’t even see our waiter, it’s like he would totally disappear, what the….? We were gonna have more Mimosa’s, guess not. However we were not leaving before my husband could get some Boston Cream Pie (his favorite dessert) It is such a shame this place doesn’t have their act together, cause it is a beautiful place and very historic (The Kennedy’s use to dine here)
We stopped in later in the evening and got three “pie” for takeout. The cake/pie was good, but not for what you have to pay for it. It was small and we expected it would have more cream in it. People like us buy it more because it was invented at the hotel and the hotel knows it has a captive audience in that regard.
This is perhaps the fanciest breakfast we have ever had - silver service with linen tablecloths and napkins. But don’t be nervous - the food is excellent and well presented. Coffee was a little weak for Australian palates but all in all it was a lovely dining experience - like being in an art gallery with super attentive service.
We only ate there once for lunch but the food was delicious and the service excellent. They only serve breakfast and lunch, not dinner.

I came here for the famous Boston creamy pie. It was closed on Monday and Tuesday, so I got the pie from Starbucks next to the bar. And I think the pie is okay. Maybe I should dine in someday and see!
I’ve read up on the history of Parker House Hotel and it’s restaurant and I was happy to finally come in and have breakfast here. It was pretty quiet and I think there were only two other tables of guests when I came in. The waitress was really friendly and went to get my ice tea for me. I ordered the corn beef and hash with toast and sunny side up eggs on top. The hash was good, it had red peppers and onions. While I was there, the waitress shared a couple of fun bits about the restaurant. This was a place that Julia Child would frequent and sat at the table next to where I was sitting and a young upcoming chef, Emeril Lagasse was cooking. I also sat at the table (#40), where JFK had announced his engagement to Jackie. Food and good conversation, who could ask for more. I hope to eat here again soon!
Upscale bar, clean & friendly. Nice street views for people watching.
When visiting another city, where to have breakfast is usually among the first of my researches. I rarely write about these wonderful places because, really, what can you say about bacon and eggs? I’m making an exception for the Parker House, which is located inside the Omni Hotel. Their breakfast specialties will keep you ready for anything all day. You could choose the sheer volume of the Beacon Hill Breakfast, down to their American Breakfast (no slouch), as well as their House Omelet (you may choose from several ingredients), and their Eggs Benedict. I believe you can also order their famous Boston Cream Pie, but, really, who has the room for it? And, apparently, they are at present (October 2021) ONLY open for breakfast. The ambience and service is superb, and justifies this necessary luxury. I was lucky in that I was staying almost a mile away, because I found the going-to walk very helpful in developing an early morning appetite and the returning walk, through the Common, an absolute necessity.
Where do I begin? Upon arrival we were greeted by a beautiful lobby and a bellman that immediately loaded our luggage onto a cart and took it up to our room and unloaded it for us. When we checked in we were given water bottles, which were much needed after our flight. Our room was beautiful and the beds were beyond comfortable. The bathroom was a little small, which we expected with the hotel being older. The only complaint about the room would be that the bathroom had a pedestal sink, so there wasn't any counter space (which again is to be expected with an older hotel). The concierge was very friendly and helpful. He even printed off a map of the Freedom Trail for us with information about each stop along the way. The hotel is in the perfect location right on the Freedom Trail and 1 or 2 blocks away from a subway stop. The restaurant was open for breakfast, which was delicious if not a little pricey (again to be expected from a nice hotel restaurant). Overall, we were very please with our stay and would definitely book here again!
