This restaurant is closed because the workers are on strike. There is no mention of that on Google maps or their website.

Went in for Boston cream pie and rolls. Great service for no more than we ordered. Both items were as good as we hoped.

Had to stop in to try a piece of the "original" Boston Cream Pie (BCP).
In total the experience was "okay".
Went for lunch on a weekday. The atmosphere can feel a little stuffy. The place was nearly empty, so we got seated right. The server was efficient, but not overly friendly. We ordered some ice teas. We got a basket of Parker Rolls, these were warm, yeasty and pleasure to eat.
We ordered a few items including: Clam Chowder, very thick and a little too salty. A Frittata that didn't seem very fresh, and was overly dense, and a waldorf salad that was pretty good.
We shared a pie of the pie, which is not a wedge slice, but made for a single serving, round, and coated with almonds. It was a bit dry and just "okay". So now we know, go somewhere else if you are looking for a better piece of BCP.
Glad that we stopped in to check it out.

I received their Boston Cream Pie on Goodbelly since I’m out of town, it was absolutely delicious! I’ve had it in person as well but it was wonderful to get it, it was so carefully packaged and arrived perfectly.

Hostess was very nice, but the good experience stopped there. We sat at the high tops and ordered the Boston cream pie and espresso martini. At an almost empty bar, the waitress says they’re running behind in a monotone voice. Over 30min later the pie comes out. Still no martini. Had to walk over to the bar to cancel the drink and ask for a check.

Ate breakfast here after our stay at the hotel. We ordered avocado toast and an omelet. The food was just ok. The price was too expensive for how mid the food tasted. I wouldn’t come back. The service was good though and coffee and orange juice are included so that was a plus. If I were to come back I’d come for the brunch maybe that’s where the good tasting food is at.

Sure, the dining room is historic and gorgeous. Yes, the food is delicious. But what makes this restaurant so special are the people who work here. I remember some of them from a visit ten years ago. This speaks volumes about the way employees are treated. They are all so professional, friendly, and know how to make you feel welcome. The highlight of the breakfasts each morning for my seven-year-old was getting to see the manager, Patricia. For some reason he just hit it off with her. She asked him questions, made him laugh, and he felt special. One day, we returned to our hotel room to find she had sent up some treats. It was a great surprise and big hit with my son. We will cherish our memories of this restaurant.

Bucket list visit - I wanted to try the original Parker House Roll and the Boston Cream Pie. The roll - amazing, and most places I've had a parker house roll only dream of being this good. The pie, not a pie, more of a... cupcake, and a bit lacking in the wonderful creamy filling that I was hoping for - good, but no wow there. The rest of breakfast was quite good, but also no wows. Service was impeccable. The space is stunning. Pricey.

The staff made this an amazing experience! The entire host, wait, and management staff showed us such hospitality and made our anniversary more special than we could have asked for when we walked through those doors!
Fun history and yummy food in a warm, regal room all paired with reasonable prices - thank you!
