It's inside the Mass College of Art so it's kind of hard to find. Just know that if you're trying to navigate there. And you're basically drinking coffee in the common area, which is fine--it's just a little bit sterile. There are no couches or easy chair--it's all hard chairs and tables, but there are outlets. I feel like Peet's used to be a step above Starbucks, but now they're doing all these Capital One cafes and stuff like this.
Everything they do is done right. The sausage and cheese are incomparable to any others in Houston. The roast beef, bacon and cheese is amazing. And their turnovers...so flaky, buttery, and delicate, with perfect fillings. The local pecan coffee pairs well with everything on the menu. Are you kidding me? This place is a destination. If I ever moved away from Houston, I think I'd miss the Original Kolache Shoppe the most.
Located within a cafeteria/food court area of a MassArt building. Good selection of pastries/muffins/croissants in addition to coffee. It's pretty lively. Unfortunately the line is almost always backed up. Expect to wait 7-10 min in line.
