I should have given the $60 to a homeless person and continued eating the hospital cafeteria smorgasbord.

This is a great establishment that is run by a responsible manager. My father had an issue here (won’t mention what as it’s been resolved). The manager called my father and I directly and apologized, offered a free dinner and in person apology, and sent a bunch of pizzas to Boston Children’s Hospital as a way to make amends. The manager here is great. She admits when they make a mistake and will go above and beyond to make it right. What else can you ask of a business? I will certainly return and recommend this place to others. The pizza is amazing!

Just had a great night with my friends at penguin and enjoyed the lime Ricky buckets, I added grenadine to mine! Yummm! Thank you to my server Carolìna she was so attentive, patient, and kind when I asked for a very complicated payment method!! Best server on tonight for sure !!

I normally don’t write reviews, but this experience was so unprofessional that I feel obligated to share.
I ordered a chicken parmesan sub and what came out was completely inedible – the chicken was burnt black, not just overcooked but charred to a crisp. I politely flagged the waitress, who sent it back to the kitchen. By the time the corrected dish came out, I had already been waiting about 40 minutes since placing my order.
The food itself was disappointing, but what truly shocked me was the service afterward. When the check came, I left a zero tip (understandably, given the circumstances). As I left, both the waitress and another server actually chased me outside to confront me about it. They asked why I tipped zero, and when I explained, they had the audacity to ask for my name. As I turned to walk away, one of them shouted at me to “never come back.”
I’ve dined at plenty of restaurants in Boston and I’ve never been treated so disrespectfully. Mistakes happen in kitchens, but the lack of accountability, the aggressive behavior, and the sheer unprofessionalism of the staff made this one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.
I will absolutely take their advice and never return — and I’d strongly caution others to think twice before spending money here.

I went in late night to get a slice and got the last of what they had. It was fine, not great. The beer selection is wide. The staff was friendly. The atmosphere is of a dive pizza bar.

Service was good till the guy at the bar LITERALLY demanded a %20 percent tip after we already tipped .. these people keep forgetting tips aren’t mandatory lol never going back to that place. Food is not even that good for you to demand that much of a tip

Was visiting my sister in nearby Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center hospital but cafeteria there closed by the time I was hungry saw on my phone Penguin Pizza was only like 0.5 mile short straight walk decided to call ahead & take the walk to this nearby pizza place glade I did it was worth it great thin crust pizza worth the walk!

Last time I was inside, the bartender was harassing all customers around and refused to provide high service. Plus, found rats inside!

Holy ****. This might be my favorite place to drink in the city of Boston. I cannot emphasize more, the staff is fantastic and friendly, the drinks are well made and well poured. The atmosphere is literally perfect. If you want a beer, food, or a cocktail, come here. I felt like a penguin in a fellowship of penguins crossing the harsh terrain of Antarctica with my boys.
