In South Boston, Petula’s offers a modern and interesting meal and menu. The decor is very thoughtful and aesthetic. For appetizers , the Arancini with Prosciutto was good, however the fried artichokes were stringy and not great quality. The Caesar salad had an aioli style dressing which was flavorful. The Vodka Pasta was decent and the Roasted Chicken was fresh and rich as well. The Sea Bass, however, was incredibly sour to the point of being inedible. As for the pizza, the toppings were great and the dough was thin and mildly airy. While it does not hold its own in the Boston pizza scene, many would enjoy it. Overall Petula’s is great for a casual meal with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Although it is not the best Boston has to offer, we left full and satisfied.
There’s a big difference between fast service and being rushed through your entire meal by the staff. From the minute we sat down, we felt like we were on a ticking clock to order and eat. We still had wine in our glasses and were about to order another glass when the check was brought to us and then when we asked about getting another glass of wine, she said that the next table was already checked in and they needed the table. In a post Covid world, being kicked out of your table at the hour and 25 min mark when you are just trying to finish your glass of wine is unacceptable… especially when your food is mediocre. I really want to like Petula’s because of the cute atmosphere but I’ve given it multiple chances and I have similar experiences every time. Will not be back.
Beautiful place with excellent ambiance and even live music. Unfortunately the food quality was despicable. Someone in the kitchen needs a wake up call.
We came here for lunch. Service was a bit odd, the girl who came to the table was nice but, 2 other girls working there, sort of ran into me, because of fast walking/serving? in the place, while I was heading the restroom in the crowded place. And didnt bother to say anything.. food was good but not many coffeeoptions. So I ended up with lemonade which was also good.
Great service great food, However, Definitely not a place if you wanna hang out for a little bit besides having dinner.
Beautiful restaurant.
Such a lovely space, unfortunate that service was poor. That really took the shine off the evening. Late food, arrived cold, replaced with a bitter attitude and undercooked. Oh well, at least it’s pretty! And yes, I tipped well because I was also once a service professional.
Petula’s is a true gem in South Boston! The food and drinks are always amazing—especially their current salmon dish, which is absolutely out of this world 🤩. The owner, Rachel, is incredibly kind and has created such a warm, welcoming space that brings the community together. One of my favorite spots in the city!

Drinks are very strong. 10/10 - Appreciate having a good pour if you're charging $15+ for a drink.

Nice food and ambience, even the store reps are kind, but when it comes to online orders it’s pretty chaotic. They need to learn to do a better job at managing online and in person orders.

Surprising, food was delicious. Fish and chips were soft/fresh very good, great actually. The Steak with fries was cooked perfectly, juicy. The cheese burger was the only good, the sauce was “ok” but again cooked perfectly. The waitress was great, perfect timing & smiling which is a small, easy thing to do that so many forget these days. Also the reservation was made for the wrong day & they were very understanding. Go try this restaurant, it’s worth the trip.

Sat at the cozy bar. Travis served us cocktails and apps and had a great time. Will recommend to anyone who is in the Boston area to check this place out for a good bite to eat and a place to sit back and take a load off while sipping a well shaken drink.
