“Pho-get about your ex—this beef is the real love story.”

Went to Pho 2000 for a casual meal, left spiritually awakened by the vinegar and butter beef. I don’t know who thought, “Let’s drown beef in butter and vinegar,” but I would trust them with my taxes, and maybe even my heart.

The beef? So tender it probably writes poetry in its spare time. The vinegar gave it a sharp sass, like your favorite aunt who always tells it like it is. And the butter? Smooth. Seductive. Basically the Barry White of sauces.

I dipped, I sizzled, I questioned every meal I’d ever had before this.

If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor—go.

But be warned: your taste buds might file a restraining order because you’ll keep coming back for more.

Just had the pork vermicelli and pho 2000, by far the best vermicelli bowl in the Boston area and pho and prices are amazing.

Given there are so many Vietnamese options in the area, I'd not come back here. Their bánh bèo could have use a bit more cooking time, and the fish sauce is not great, a little too sour for bánh bèo. Phở is very standard, on the sweet side. They do serve bò 7 món, which could be promising.

We called ahead and got a deep-fried catfish for 6 people. Hidden brown and sliced for easy eating. Great meal, rice paper for a wrap, with fresh vegetables )lettuce, mint, basil, etc). My salted lime drink was very refreshing.

The pho is the star of the show, and rightfully so. The broth is rich, deeply flavorful, and clearly simmered for hours. It's the kind of broth that warms you from the inside out, perfect for a chilly Boston day. The noodles are perfectly cooked, and with generous portions of tender meat.
Beyond the pho, their menu boasts a range of other Vietnamese favorites. The spring rolls are fresh and crisp, and the beef vermicelli is packed with flavor.
What truly sets Pho 2000 apart is the genuine hospitality. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel like a welcomed guest in their home.
If you're looking for a no-frills, authentic Vietnamese meal in Dorchester, look no further than Pho 2000. You'll leave feeling full, satisfied, and eager to return.

For a quick weekend lunch I stopped by Pho 2000, in desperate need of noodle soup after the snow yesterday (first proper snow in in 3 years, too). I found street parking a block away, entered into a fairly empty establishment (save for the owners, probably due to aforementioned snow), ordered, and received my bowl of pho in 5 minutes.

I ordered the #16 Pho 2000. Other places call it the Pho Dac Biet; basically, it's the one with every beef thing in it. I ordered it in the large size (3 sizes available - small, large, xl) and also added beef meatballs (+$1). This came to $16 after tax.

Pho came out piping hot. Broth could have been a bit more aromatic. Portion size was decent and there was a good ratio of meat to rice noodle - didn't skimp out. Overall, a decent neighborhood pho place.

Our group had Seven Courses of Beef, which is a set selection of dishes in Vietnamese cuisine. Every course was authentically delicious and such a grand tour of flavors! Service was very friendly and we all had a wonderful time. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is very familiar, not at all luxurious but has personality. The attendant, even though he didn't understand English very well, was super attentive. The food was extremely cheap and tasty, I saw that the cook has been at the restaurant for over 30 years, and it is a family business. There is no reason not to give five stars. Everything very satisfactory, I come back every week.
