staff was so rude and disrespectful. we were waiting for an uber about 3 minutes away, the bouncer comes over and asks us to leave. We head towards the door but wait inside as our uber is almost there. There are at least twenty patrons left in the bar. the bouncer tells us to leave again, when we point out there are several people still in the bar and it is very cold outside, he responds “ because they know people and you dont so you have to leave”. seems to me like unfair favoritism and blatant disrespect.

Deysia was an amazing bartender for the first half of our time here, super friendly and gave great drink recommendations, after shift change we had Bella as our night time bartender and she was superb, amazing vibes, friendly conversation and great drinks from her as well. Would comeback a million times and then some if I had them behind the bar. “Blacky” was also an amazing person that worked there, constantly checks on everyone to make sure they’re good, but amazing energy to follow. If you’re having a good or bad night, he will lighten your mood

We stumbled across Foxhole after a day of shopping on Newbury. We were looking for a place to get a drink and sit in the warmth, but the staff was so friendly and the atmosphere so great that we ended up getting a few drinks and dinner. This might be my new favorite bar in Boston! What a great place.

Extremely disappointed with our experience here. We went as a small group of 3 people and were shocked to see a 20% service charge (around $52 on a $331 bill) automatically added to our check. I’ve eaten at plenty of restaurants, and service charges like that are usually only applied to large groups — not just three guests.
What made it worse was the way the situation was handled. When we questioned the charge, the staff didn’t have any clear explanation at first. It took a long back-and-forth conversation before they finally agreed to remove it. If we hadn’t checked the bill carefully and spoken up, we would’ve been unfairly overcharged.
This kind of practice feels misleading and dishonest. It gives the impression that the restaurant is trying to take advantage of customers who might not notice the extra fee. A restaurant’s reputation depends on transparency and trust — and this experience showed neither.
The food itself was okay, but honestly, the whole thing left a bad taste. No matter how good the food is, it doesn’t make up for a lack of honesty. If you plan to dine here, double-check your bill before paying.

Cool place, but bar bites are offensively overpriced for the portions. $14 for 5 tiny pigs in a blanket is CRAZY. As are the 4 tiny pretzels in a serving based on what they charge. Felt bad for the servers being forced to serve such tiny and overpriced plates.
