Best Pizza ?

JF Thoms

Pizza was delicious. We sat at the bar and you get two servers, one at the bar and one for food. That would be fine but they were so out of synch, it took forever for the bartender to get someone to take our food order. 2 checks was fine but again the timing was so different.

Had to check out the pizza. It was delicious! Also wanted to come because the restaurant was in the Holdovers. There was a wait, but it was a Friday. Everything was well organized, and staff & patrons were talking to one another using first names. Very much a restaurant with regulars. Our server Joanne was super busy but incredibly attentive to our needs. She was funny too. Really helped create that neighborly feeling. We were informed (from Joanne) yhat our pizza was going to be a while. She suggested we order other food to fill the time. That was a great pro tip. We basically had a 3 course meal. Antipasto salad, pasta with Italian sausage, and pizza. Can't wait to return!!

First time here, felt like a trip to the past. Bartender makes a nice Manhattan. We shared a plain cheese pizza.

My favorite pizza ? ANYWHERE!!! Been going for 50 years. It's actually in the movie 'The Holdovers' under a different name, but looks the same as it did 50 years ago. Waitress' and owners are a cut above ♥️

The decir is a little dated, but not raggedy at all. We were seated immediately. The staff was professional and polite. I enjoyed my veggie pizza and my husband's onion rings. The total for 3 people was $35. Would we do this again, yes. This is definitely a family restaurant. I have a bias for local, neighborhood restaurants, and the Pleasant Cafe is definitely in that category. This is a casual spot.Parking: They have a huge parking lot (by Roslindale standards) directly across from the restaurant.

Terrible food. Everything from the pasta to the chicken parm sub was disgusting!! The pizza had about an ounce of grease on it. Will never come back again. Such a shame…you wouldn’t think pizza pasta or a chicken parm sub would be gross but they found a way to make it happen!

Clearly, I love pizza. At the same time, when I rate places, I try to be completely inclusive of the entire experience. The Pleasant has been a staple in my life since 1977 - 40 years after they opened their doors.I love the Pleasant for so many reasons. First and foremost, I love that the staff remember the “regulars” - including us , who took a two year hiatus with the pandemic. I appreciate that servers and others come sit with us to chat and check in- never imposing or over staying. I appreciate the abundance of free parking. I LOVE THAT THEY HAVE THE COLDEST (AND LEAST EXPENSIVE BOTTLED BEER IVE EVER HAD!) I want to know how they do it.Actually, maybe even more - we love the multiple options- prime rib being a favorite- raviolis come in as a tie - not to mention the chicken parm. BUT - even more - always opt in for the complementary bread!! Amazing- delicious- melts softly in your mouth- inevitably leaving you craving/ asking for more! The Pleasant is A REAL GEM!

Boston's best pizza, hands down. This is where I've eaten for forty years. Both my grandparents and parents. They shared the same pizza oven.
