If you’re in Boston and from Africa, please only order food from safari African restaurant. Please, if you do not want to disturb your appetite. I been here in Boston for couple of days and have tried others African food for the first time in Boston with the same dish and only safari food is the best of them all. Please save yourself from this stress. I don’t know any from SAFARI, as the matter of fact I’ve never been there before, only used Uber Eats for delivery at my hotel. “SAFARI” the best of African tastes. #KingDollarSign say so.

Don't waste your money. Food was so bad we didn't eat it. I knew it was going to be bad when I arrived rhe the entire place was EMPTY. Not a good sign for a Friday night. Then when I got the food there was no aroma at all. No seasoning no kick. The food had NO taste. Worst Jollof Rice I ever tasted. Neither of us finished it. It was dry and tasted like it was made with tomato sauce only. Chicken was dry and tasteless. This place is expensive for the quality. The previous reviews are fake or this place has fallen off.

First time trying egusi soup and fufu (saw the viral videos and wanted to give it a try). The egusi soup was very bitter, I am not sure exactly why, but it was not the flavor i was expecting. I couldn’t finish it because of the strong bitter flavor. Don’t recommend it especially for the price.

Large restaurant, with a pleasant atmosphere and great service, but the food is the star of the show. I’m Nigerian, and I spent most of my life eating out in Nigeria. I have spent the past 3 years hunting for consistently tasty African food, and I think I’ve finally found it. At affordable prices too. Don’t wait, run to Safari and eat to your heart’s content. It’s the best Boston has to offer

Ps. Their peanut soup is to die for. Also try the pepper soup (soft cow leg), fried rice and lamb dibi, and baobab juice.

Egusi soup consistency was like throw up. I wish I were lieing. I should’ve read reviews. Here is a current review and the fufu was terrible, like mashed one person said I agree and other said the powdered fufu I agree it was just gross and for $26. I hope no one else gets fooled

I will give it 1🌟 — My experience at Safari Restaurant was profoundly disappointing and marked by a consistent lack of courtesy and professionalism. The conduct of several members of the staff—particularly some of the women employed there—was discourteous, dismissive, and at times openly hostile. Such behavior creates an atmosphere that is neither welcoming nor respectful, qualities one reasonably expects when patronizing an establishment open to the public.

What is most troubling is that this demeanor appears to be ingrained rather than incidental, seemingly tolerated—even exemplified—by individuals closely associated with ownership. This suggests a broader disregard for the fundamental principles of hospitality and customer service.

Furthermore, the restaurant presents itself as Senegalese; however, from my understanding, the proprietors and staff are in fact from The Gambia, and the cuisine and ambiance do not faithfully represent authentic Senegalese culture or tradition. This misrepresentation is regrettable, particularly in a city like Boston, which would greatly benefit from genuine Senegalese restaurants that honor the warmth, refinement, and generosity for which that culture is rightly known.

In conclusion, Safari Restaurant failed to meet even the most basic standards of respect and professionalism. I will not be returning, nor can I recommend it to those who value civility, authenticity, and proper service.

Okra soup and fufu side, fufu side is like a mashed potato, okra soup with beef and fish. No fish or beef in the soup, no taste. Worst African food ever.

Had an excellent meal here. I ordered the thieboudienne, bissap, baobab juice, and thiakry. Thieboudienne is incredibly delicious, the rice was cooked perfectly and the sauce that the food was cooked in was outstanding. It came with a hot sauce that was also phenomenal. The bissap and baobab juice were great and refreshing accompaniments. Honestly, being able to get baobab juice at all in this region is really impressive. I took the thiakry to go and enjoyed it, its great on a hot summer night and the millet provides a really interesting and nice texture for a dessert.

Service was great and hospitable, and there are many tables available. You can tell they take their food really seriously at this restaurant. Also, I didn’t get something with fufu but I saw another table get it and the fufu looked massive - definitely got to try that next time.

Best West African food I’ve had in Massachusetts so far.
