We wanted a hole in the wall place. Locals were just hanging out, drinking coffee and enjoying the crisp fall day. The sandwiches are just like your mom would make you and large enough for two people. It was the perfect spot!
I can see why the place would get a bad rap due to how it looks and seems. But the lady was as wonderful as they come and clearly takes care into making the hot food from scratch. Would recommend the meatball sub as she makes them and the sauce everyday.
We were hot & tired after walking around The Freedom Trail...& Sal's was just what we needed. So glad that we got off the beaten path & ducked down this side street. My husband got a meatball sub & I just got a turkey/cheese sandwich. We each got a can of soda...that were ice cold!
