One of the last old school restaurants in the city. Not only is the food(pizza, steak tips, sausage) worth the trip but so is the history and atmosphere. Can't say you're a Bostononian unless you've eaten ere.

Santarpios is our go to for authentic Italian in East Boston. Near Logan Airport, the service is 5 star and the atmosphere is safe and welcoming.

Awesome food and people. Great service. We live on the north shore so tend to go to the one up here but the original is one of the best

I went with my children and some friends after the soccer game; there were 10 of us, 9 kids and me, and we went there because they wanted pizza and they were very hungry. To please them, I took them to that pizzeria. We waited for more than an hour and a half for our pizzas, and when they finally arrived, they were all burned. Ugh, that was a real disappointment considering the supposedly good reviews of the place. That was my first and last time there. It felt like we were treated poorly because we are Hispanic. -_- (

Our waitress was very good and didn't need to write anything down yet still got everything correct for a party of 10. That alone was impressive.
I'm not a fan of their pizza but their bbq meat is absolutely worth it. I forgot how good it is.
The lamb and sausage were both great and the portions were better than expected.
It's simple and rustic but it hits the spot.

Been going here a long time but haven't been back in a couple years. We got a pizza with hot peppers and it just didn't hit like it used to. It honestly was pretty mediocre and not the Santarpios I remember. Hoping this was just a one off experience...

Food's quality has gone down a bit, maybe a 3/5 at best.
However this review is about the reoccurring behavior with a waitress there. My family's hispanic and for the past couple of times we've gone back to Santarpios we've had a new incident of blatant rudeness. Unfortunately I don't know her name but she's heavy set, has straight black hair and mascara all over her eyes. Just openly rude to us the whole time, throwing the food down on the table to make a point I suppose and even carelessly spilled water from the drink tray directly on top of one of us when giving us our drinks. Along with either ignoring us or giving us dirty looks the whole time we were there even if she wasn't our waitress for the meal. It's disheartening to have to happen since we've been sharing our meals with this restaurant since childhood.
