Walked two miles in the dark to go to this well-known pizza joint I remembered from my childhood. I got in & the guy standing by the oven was unfriendly and pushed me to sit at the bar because I am solo on a work trip. I asked for a table. It was 5pm and there were two other customers in the whole place. Then the waitress - this sullen, unpleasant woman - came by and she too pushed me to sit at the bar. When I asked for a table she took me into a totally separate, cold and uncomfortable room off the main room. When I asked if I could sit in the main section she said no and just turned around without even asking if I wanted a glass of water or something. I sat for a minute, then got up and left. Walked two miles back in the dark. What kind of restaurant treats people like this?

Nice old school pizza joint. My pizza was under cooked. The middle was very runny. The cheese wasn't setup either. The taste was good. But extremely messy. Couldn't eat without a fork.

We had the Chicken, Broccoli and Garlic pizza and that was the best pizza I have had in a long time! We also had an Italian sausage pizza that was tasty, but I would recommend the CBG pizza to everyone! They atmosphere was great; lots of cool memorabilia around. It was our first meal in Boston and it was a great way to start our trip!

This time, the lamb tips were not good. Their wine is the worse watered down swill. Bread is always good! Why do I go back. I dont know. Tradition!
Pizza was excellent! The cheese pizza was so tasty and had the perfect amount of cheese. When you pickup a piece, it appears that the cheese is going to fall off but it doesn’t! It holds true even when the bread folds over! I loved the crust ratio as well. Not thick but actually a thing soft crust pizza and the actual crust was nice and crispy. This pizza had a ton of flavor!
The side sausage and steak with bread were also both very good! The steak could use some seasoning but other than that, cooked very well and not tough one bit. Sausage, killer! Bread, pillowy soft. Peppers both come with were crisp and juicy and spicy! Perfect addition to the steak and sausage!
The decor is photos of persons that have visited and Boston legends like Larry Bird, the cast of the Sopranos, Rocky Marciano etc. Really awesome vibes inside and you can tell it’s a great local hangout!
10/10 would recommend! Impressed by how impressed I was with a cheese pizza, that’s how you know they do it right.

As a born-and-raised Southerner, I thought I knew good pizza until my husband took me to Santarpio’s in Boston. He’s been talking about this place for years, and now I completely understand why. The crust has that perfect char and the sauce is incredible. The lamb is amazing!
This was my third visit, and it’s officially become a must-stop every time we’re in town. It’s old-school, no-frills, and absolutely delicious. It’s the kind of pizza that ruins you for anywhere else. We may live far away, but this place has my heart (and my appetite)!
