Erica our server was amazing! Ask for Erica she knew the menu well and had an amazing energy! We started off with Calamari highly recommend light and fluffy and a homemade sauce. We had a bottle of wine a chianti! For dinner I had the chicken which was amazing! For dessert a tiramisu that was so delicious!

So impressed by the delicious food here! We had the fig/bacon pizza as an appetizer then the carbonara and duck/foie gras dishes for entrees. Everything was high quality in taste and ingredients. No notes! The cocktails were fall festive which matched the cozy vibe of the restaurant. I wish the server interrupted a little less, but he was super nice. Plates were cleared in a timely manner and water was always poured without having to ask, which I always consider a sign of attentive service. The ambience was a little loud, but it was a weekend night after all - just something to note if you're looking for a more quiet conversation setting. I would absolutely go back to Scampo. It's a great place to bring out-of-town guests as well, with the lovely bar upstairs and the history of the Liberty Hotel.

The atmosphere was enjoyable. The artwork was a conversation piece of how the grounds used to be an old jail house. The food was amazing. My wife had lobster stew and I had the lobster pizza. The amount of lobster was impressive if you compared it to the typical amount on a lobster roll -- right on point for the price and quality!

Great atmosphere, but so heavy that’s it’s hard to enjoy. Avoid the pork chop and the haddock and the sides

Had the chance to meet my cousins and a friend for dinner at Scampo in Boston. The space is beautiful — nicely outfitted and definitely has good bones. Chairs were very comfortable, though the tables run a bit small. We were squeezed at a four-top, which felt a little tight.
Service was excellent — the staff was attentive without being intrusive. Drinks were great (I had a lemon drop and it was spot-on). Appetizers were delicious — the tuna tartare was fresh and flavorful. For my entrée, I went with the fish & chips. It was a generous portion and tasted great. Only tiny critique is that the bottom layer got a bit soggy — but still very enjoyable overall.
All in all, a great dinner experience. I’d happily go back!

Food was good, but not particularly memorable. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Dining room was crowded and noisy.

I hate writing 1 star reviews because honestly I don’t think it’s even worth it but I feel it necessary given the fact that I just dropped 166 dollars here and couldn’t even get myself to finish the food.
I’ll keep this short, our food took 40 minutes to come out. We ordered 1 cold appetizer, 2 entrees, and 1 drink.
The appetizer we got was underwhelming and the tomatoes weren’t ripe. The pieces of mozzarella let’s just say I was wondering where the rest was.
We got the steak and it somehow came out burnt and cold at the same time. The potatoes that came with the steak came out cold. As for my pasta all that I can describe it as was oily and was bad enough that I declined a take away box.
Now if you would’ve told me this was from the cheese cake factory and I paid 60 bucks for all of it I’d be less frustrated but it’s for the reason that a restaurant demanding 80 dollars for a steak that they messed up so bad …. Idk it’s just crazy to me.
Service was mid at best and the best service of the night was from the valet staff.
If you’re looking for a nice place for pasta , go to pammys or tonino. Don’t fall for this place it’s over hyped, over priced, and not worth it.

In August 2025, I visited Lydia Shire’s Scampo inside the Liberty Hotel — and the experience was a delight.
The evening began with three golden breadsticks served alongside a thick, velvety fava bean dip brightened with basil and olive oil, arranged in the shape of a leaf. It set the tone for a meal that was both elegant and playful.
For my Caesar salad, the server asked if anchovies were okay. Absolutely — a true Caesar should have them. Crisp romaine, a tangy dressing, and the briny anchovies made it one of the best Caesars I’ve ever tasted.
The corn soup was a creamy, sunshine-yellow bowl of comfort, accompanied by a tiny, salty sandwich — so naturally, I dunked it right into the soup. It was marvelous.
For the main course, I chose the spaghetti Bolognese. The server suggested a half portion, but I’m glad I went for the full. It arrived perfectly sauced and deeply satisfying. On the side, I ordered fried peas, a house favorite, served with two dipping sauces. They were as addictive as they sound.
To drink, I had a blackberry sparkling mocktail — refreshing and slightly tart. And for dessert, I opted for a root beer float. While the dessert took about 30 minutes to arrive after ordering, the rest of the service was attentive, with multiple staff members checking in to see if I wanted a drink earlier in the meal.
Despite the wait at the end, this dinner reminded me why Lydia Shire is a Boston legend: bold flavors, confident execution, and a touch of whimsy.

The service was amazing! Our server was so kind and we went here for a bday dinner and we had a wonderful experience dining here.
Cacio e pepe - It was rich and flavorful 🍝 8/10.
Spaghettini w snow crab & alex's homemade salsa matcha - I loved the snow crab with the pasta 🦀🍝! The crab wasn't fishy at all and very fresh and tender. It paired so well woth the pasta. The pasta was flavorful and not too salty. 9/10.
xtra cold crisp butter lettuce salad w/ peach & warm parmesan custard - We tried this as a starter and it was a light and healthy yet flavorful starter. The parmesan custard was almost like a soft tofu and paired so well with the peach, tomato and butter lettuce. 8/10
We got the lemon sorbet with I think was basil on top 🍨 and it was a refreshing dessert.
Overall, the service was great and the food was pretty good too!
