We had a 6PM reservation on Saturday Oct 11. We walked past it a couple of times due to scaffolding over the sidewalk, lol. We were seated right away (we were a few minutes late). Our server was great. I had a cider, she had some wine. We ordered to steak egg rolls which were yummy but nothing special. The arancini we ordered were not very good. Bland. We split the huge cheeseburger pizza. Yummy and messy. We could not finish it. The place looks great. It wasn't very busy.
Honestly.... This is the best Country Bar in all of Boston.
It's fun showing up on Fridays for line dancing!

The service seemed slow, but it was worth the wait. The food was excellent: a salad with salmon and New England clam chowder. The salmon was huge, and the salad was perfect.

We went to Scholars as part of Boston Dine Out Week lunch. The location is off the Common, so easy to get to. Hot day, midweek, factors possibly enabled us to find metered parking within a 2 minute walk. The venue is very nice, although not one stall in the ladies could lock. My G&T was delicious! The 3 course prix fixe had excellent ingredients. The fried fish cake with a slaw was served nice and hot, and was a great comdination. The salmon and shrimp ( particularly the latter) was overcooked but tasty. The broccolini ( bright green and crunchy!) and coconut jasmine rice were both very good. The dessert of small just made doughnuts and caramel ice cream was quite yummy. Our server was covering several tables and got all the timing right (thank you). I just wish someone had wiped the melting ice cube off the table- I was reluctant to knock it onto the floor for safety reasons. Overall, it's a place we'll keep in mind.
Went out for Restaurant Week lunch at Scholars, which is our go-to for RW. The food is delicious and the serving sizes are generous. Nice menu and cocktails too.
The restaurant was almost completely empty when we walked in for dinner, the atmosphere was beautiful and the music was amazing, however a very large and loud group of runners came in at about 9pm and caused us to have to leave as they were all shouting and we couldn't hear eachother at all!! Completely understandable due to the nature of the place however disappointing considering they were all stood in the dining area rather than in another area of the place.

I walked by this place, but never been in. I wish I gone earlier cause the place is great. Had the chicken carbonara and chimichurri steak. Both were excellent. They have a lot of pizzas that I definitely wanna try so hopefully I'll be back soon. They have pool tables in another bar on the second floor. Seems like a fun place.
The waiters were not very attentive. The kitchen closed at a certain point that we were not aware of, and it took forever for us to just get menus.
Hilary is amazing!!! I’ll be recommending this bar to everyone just for them to experience her amazing service!!

As far as Boston bars go, this one is okay. I do like that there's free cover, but the music is hit or miss depending on who's playing. Drink prices aren't too bad, but if you can afford to go to other bars in the area then you aren't missing out.
