Serafina Back Bay Reviews
at first when we walked in, I felt really under dressed and like everyone was staring at me like I was a bum :( But, our waiter made us feel at home and was super friendly! He made it worth it. And the food...get outta here! So good!!!
Great wine great food and a great waiter
This is my new fave spot in Back Bay. The spaghetti squash and Avocado San Pietro dishes are amazing. The staff also shines (Roberto and Stephen are both wonderful). Great location (hidden a bit, which isn’t a bad thing). And the sunlight combined with the interior design make it a fantastic spring spot (the sunlight pours in). Give it a try!

Serafina Back Bay is a charming spot for lunch with attentive servers and delicious pasta dishes like cacio e pepe, aglio e oglio, and carbonara. The mojitos are highly recommended, and the penne with vodka sauce along with branzino remain popular choices. Guests enjoy the complimentary bread and Arancini appetizer, although some dishes like the pesto pasta can be a bit too creamy. The food is generally fresh and well-prepared, with the truffle arancini being crispy and flavorful, and pasta dishes such as carbonara and tagliolini al tartufo cooked perfectly al dente. The outdoor space might be nicer, offering a pleasant setting despite occasional humidity inside. Guests have appreciated outdoor dining, even with some noisy moments inside. The spaghetti with mussels in white wine cream sauce is highly praised, and the bruschetta is light and fresh. Many meals like chicken parm are well-loved, although some items like the truffle fries can be a little oily and soggy, and the bread was not very good. Service is often friendly and efficient, with food coming out quickly, though sometimes service can be slow, and tables may be unclean. The indoor setup can feel a bit odd, but the overall experience remains reasonable given its prime location on Newbury Street. Recent visitors also note the staff is warm and welcoming, with some praising the outstanding service of specific servers. The restaurant offers a good takeout option, with some surprisingly enjoyable vegan pizza and outstanding margarita. While the taste of some dishes has declined slightly, dishes like Farfalle limoncello remain excellent. Recent reviews mention incredible staff, well-made cocktails, and delicious food, though some note that the music has changed to wallpaper pop/house, and they miss the classic vibe of artists like Sade, MJ, Daniel Caesar, and Faith Evans. A few guests experienced kitchen equipment issues, leading to unavailable menu items and out-of-stock ingredients, which affected their experience. Overall, Serafina Back Bay continues to be a popular choice for both casual and outdoor dining, with many customers praising the authentic Italian flavors and great service.
