Grace is honestly a fantastic bartender, with the people skills of a trained pro. I’ve watched her navigate the busiest bar and full floor like it was nothing, keeping the crowd happy. Mike’s commanding presence is not only because he’s tall, but he’s knowledgeable and friendly which you’d be able to tell immediately. His expertise in the hobbies we share made me feel welcome and at ease. Amilcar is skilled equally at making good drinks and making good conversation, what a guy! Dylan is personable and funny, putting guests at ease, easily. Great team, great atmosphere, great food and great drinks.

Classic Boston vibe inside with industrial touches but the food is good and so are the drinks.

Fantastic service, tasty food. I especially liked the snacks menu - cucumbers, pretzels...umami bowl and the cauliflower were tasty, too! At dinner time it got quite hectic and loud. In general, recommend!

If you're looking for a primo poultry experience, then this place simply can't be beat. Here are the highlights:Food: Shy Bird has a great menu, from sandwiches to salads and grain bowls. The chicken, of course, is the star of the show.Drinks: Whether you're in the mood for a classic cocktail or looking to try something new off they have a creative drink menu.Staff: A+ The service really does add a layer of charm to the overall experience. Everyone I've interacted with is super friendly and fun.Atmosphere: Whoever said 'business and pleasure don't mix' obviously never visited Shy Bird during weekday work hours. They've introduced a "Work from Shy Bird" concept where they roll out three different menus, offering everything from an all-you-can-drink coffee to lunch specials and an after-work drink option. I've never seen this concept before, and trust me, it's an interesting take on the traditional work-lunch scenario. They have a Happy Hour which they call "Shy Hour." As you might be aware, Happy Hours aren't allowed in Massachusetts, but Shy Bird cleverly interprets this with a competitively priced menu that's a great value for an after-work drop-in. The $3.50 beer does comes in a smaller glass.IMO, Shy Bird is an ideal spot for a mid-day meal or a relaxed dinner with friends. I'd confidently give it a four out of five stars. So fly on over...you won't be disappointed!

BEWARE DISHONEST BUSINESS. They charge an extra 4% "kitchen appreciation fee" to all your orders. They wrote this in their menu in a tiny font, but don't tell you in advance. Their food is already expensive, but I understand they can charge whatever they want. What's not acceptable is being dishonest about the actual price of the food, as if paying ~$20 for a burger is not enough "appreciation" already.

Shy Bird is such a terrific addition to our neighborhood in Southie. I have been there many times, and intend to go back often! The menu and coffee are both delicious . The soup, sandwiches and salads are outstanding. And, I cannot say enough about the management and staff. Each member of the team is friendly, helpful, and professional. Thank you Shy Bird! Went here to catch up with some friends over brunch - it was great! Food was good and the restaurant looked nice. They let us hang out well after our check was paid AND they continued serving us water, even after we had already closed out. As a fellow server, I know what it's like to want a table to leave after they've cashed out, but I didn't feel this way at all. Great experience and I will definitely be back!
