Do NOT use the ATM there. The machine says it will charge $3 to make a withdrawal, turns out it charges $5.50 according to my bank statement. Otherwise it's a nice, divey spot that gives a generous amount of popcorn with your drink for free. It's got a room in the back that hosts DIY shows - nothing fancy, but in a charming way. Parking sucks, but that's Brighton for you.

This place should be shut down.
Went in with a group of friends, most of us of international ethnicity. The bartender immediately asked for IDs, which is of course normal. Two of us had Mass IDs. Others of us had an out of state (but still “real/star” IDs), and the bartender said that he cannot accept out of state IDs, that he would need a picture of passports.
One of my friends had a picture of her passport— but she is from a country that has gotten bad press in the news recently. The bartender said no, we could not stay.
Okay, we understood. We got up from the table, and were waiting by the door to call a car. This night, the wind chill was around 0, so we figured as long as we hovered by the doorway it would be okay. One of our friends went up to tell the bartender we would just be calling a car.
This is important— he looked my friends and I head to toe, one by one, and said “no, you’ve got to leave.” So we waited outside the door for our car in the freezing cold.
After doing some research, there is no law that states that Massachusetts bars cannot accept valid out of state IDs. That was a complete lie. I don’t care if you’re at risk of getting your liquor license taken away— you obviously had bad practices in the first place. Seems like a ploy to keep the bar for townies (who look a certain way) only.
So to the City of Boston— you can add racial profiling, discrimination, and making up state laws to the list of reasons to close this place down.

Cheap beer dive bar line on Saturdays
The Silhouette Lounge is easily my new favorite bar. It is full of eclectic weirdos, the bathrooms are cramped and carved to hell and back with every imaginable toilet thought, the bartenders are take no shit types, and they have darts and pool to keep you busy while you enjoy their cheaply priced but well made drinks.

Genuinely one of the worst bars I have ever been to. The staff were honestly very weird and rude. They felt entitled and that they had a weird power over you. The staff escalated a group of people near me enough to start a fight. I would avoid this place as it’s dirty and musty. You can have your money spent better elsewhere.

I was just at Sil on Tuesday. I've been a few times before and it was ok - this time I had a $14 check and tipped $1. The bartender, Sarah, who was not very nice to me or my boyfriend the whole evening, adjusted the tip so my total bill was $17. This is fraud and I have contacted the establishment, but am also writing here for accountability. As a former bartender, this is so illegal and just terrible customer service. I won't be returning and I will be escalating the issue if I don't hear from management.

Everything was great but if the men's bathroom for just one person? And how do I get darts? Haha. Drinks good, everything good.
