Terrific experience all around. Fun atmosphere, accommodating menu, knowledgeable staff, and well-curated tea and food selection and presentation. Thank you for a lovely afternoon!
Such a nice experience. The tea and food were great. The drinks were too. Service was awesome. We really enjoyed our experience there.
Delightful place for afternoon tea! We loved it! The cocktail options were excellent and the food choices were tasty!
I had a post-convention networking meeting here. As a celiac, this place was fantastic. The tea was incredible, the servers were attentive and professional, and the atmosphere was clean yet relaxed. Big fan of the electric picture frame that only featured duck videos too.
One of the best Afternoon Tea experiences I've had. The food was fantastic, the service attentive and friendly. We are going back again to enjoy the new season's menu!
It was very expensive for what it was. Great selection of teas but food options are very limited. Had better experience of the afternoon tea in London and also in one similarly small cafe in Boston
the food is not good, definitely not worth the price, macaron was really bad, the small sandwiches were a combination of excessive sweetness and saltness, and the cracker/bread had bad texture and bland.
We had a party of five with a wide variety of dietary needs and severe allergies. The server was well trained and knowledgeable, and informed us of all the modifications that would be required in order to meet our needs. Allergies were taken seriously, but didn’t seem to be a burden or overwhelm our waitstaff. As the courses were brought out, a member of the serving staff would explain which foods were safe for each guest.
The teas were amazing, the foods were delicious, but the service and care we received were world class. Bravo!
It is exactly what it looks like and it was very enjoyable! It should be noted though, that the sandwiches are not actual sandwiches lol. We did get a bit caught off guard by that.
Excellent tea selection. Savory and sweet snacks were excellent. Great flavor combinations and textures. All gluten free, although you cannot tell since its exquisite. As good as tea time in the London ritz

We went for the first time, it was my bday, so we requested for a nice table and were seated by the bathroom, the gentleman assisting us wouldnt move us tho the place was empty when we got there, he was loud and had an attitude. Def not my cup of tea. Food is just ok my tea was good. I wouldn’t go back.
Quality food, tea and service! I highly recommend this establishment.
This was the perfect brunch spot on a rainy day! The decor and ambiance is perfect. The tea was great- both my husband and I got the Strawberry Black Tea. They do have almond and soy milk so that was nice for those who like to limit their dairy. The food was amazing; I felt like I was tasting items on the Great British Baking Show- not to mention, the whole place is completely gluten free so celiac friendly. I highly recommend for anyone visiting Boston.
If you looking for a relaxing non-rushed either romantic or casual way to catchup with either friends, loved one or family for conversation with a light snack bite this is the place for you. Each person gets their own pot of tea or can share and if you wish to get additional quick bite or dessert your welcome to but for $3 extra. There is a refill allowed on the tea. My wife who has allergies was able to be accommodated which was huge for us. They created a separate dessert plate for extra precaution. Based on experience and menu not truly kid-friendly but definitely a good dating activity or for older adults. **Menu changes with the seasons**
A Rather Disappointing Flutter at The Silver Dove
One does so hate to write a lukewarm review—after all, the business of afternoon tea is a sacred one, a ritual of clinking porcelain and genteel indulgence. Alas, The Silver Dove in Boston left us more perplexed than pampered.
Let us begin with the positives, as a good guest must: the service was prompt, and the staff were ever-present—efficient, if not effusive. The atmosphere showed flashes of promise: a wall of flowers offered a charming backdrop, and the emerald green tufted benches had a certain je ne sais quoi. The table settings were, admittedly, quite photogenic, and the surroundings were bright and clean. One could almost imagine oneself in a proper tea room. Almost.
Then, the reality set in. The layout was tighter than a corset at a Victorian luncheon—conversations from neighboring tables intruded upon one’s own with alarming clarity. Privacy was but a distant dream, and one couldn’t help but feel rather enmeshed in the lives of fellow patrons.
But the true tragedy lay in the food. The pairings were puzzling, the flavors lackluster. We found ourselves delicately sampling each offering, then discreetly abandoning most. A valiant effort in theory, but in execution? Rather like a teapot with a broken spout—all promise, no pour.
[Keep in mind, there’s an automatic 18% gratuity added to your bill]
If it’s a proper tea experience you’re after, might I suggest Jenny’s section at the Boston Library Tea Room? One leaves there feeling rather more *satisfied*—and isn’t that the point?
Two stars, dear Silver Dove. With a heavy heart, and a rather light stomach.
