One of my main spots to grab some food. convenient location, clean, and excellent service. I recommend this place!
This place will surprise you. I will be back with my relatives.
I had reserved a table for 6 there at OpenTable-my family and I were visiting from PA. When we got there they said they ‘never check' OpenTable and was extremely annoyed when I showed them the reservation I made on the app. They said with a party our size and since they were unprepared we'd have to wait so we took separate tables. Not once did they apologize for OUR inconvenience. it's not our fault they don't check the app...why even have this service available? The guy was EXTREMELY ignorant. Our server never asked if we needed refills or anything else-we had to flag her down every time. The place was small and she would walk by our tables but not stop to check on us. Bathrooms were dirty, neither locks worked in the stalls.
Great experience...food and drinks were wonderful in a very historic setting! Wanted to dine at this historic tavern for our last meal in Boston. Staff didn't have our reservation down but still accommodated our party with no wait! Really enjoyed food and atmosphere...
Green Dragon was a place to go for a drink, beer, cocktails - but we really cannot comment on the food except to say we decided not to eat there. Here's why: After entering and looking for a hostess, I went to the bar and was quickly served by the bartender who said we could sit anywhere we wished - we didn't need a reservation. OK, we sat at at table, kept an eye out for a table waiter but never saw one - not just didn't we have one come by our table - we didn't see anyone being served. We spotted a stack of menus which we studied but the selection on the menu was very limited - no where near the selection in the menu that appears on the Open Table website. Out of the 50+ patrons (pretty crowded with folks enjoying their libations - it's a rather small pub), we spotted only one patron who had a little food on his table. We finished our drinks, closed the tab and left. It was a Monday evening about 7 PM. Our unusual experience did not match the various reviews on Open Table.
Nice spot, if you're compelled to do something "historic" near downtown. The food is a step up (in both quality, delivery and prices) to the other "historic" place next door, but you won't mistake it for gourmet. It's decent pub food prepared reasonably well (although the fish and chips probably wouldn't inspire a revolution, except maybe against soggy breading...). Vibe was fun, beer was cold and the staff nice.
