Me and my friend went to Stephanie’s to have a great dinner today.
To start off, our waitress disappeared for longer periods of time throughout the night (for example we asked for a little more time to choose what to eat and we didn’t see her for like 20 minutes. We had to ask other waiters to order). Once we ordered the food, it came faster than expected. However, we didn’t receive the right order so we had to wait some time until our actual order arrived to the table.
Upon getting the right plates, we were faced with crazy large portions. I ate a Rigatoni Bolognese which had at least half a kg of pasta with a matching amount of beef ragout - if not more. My friend got an 8oz tenderloin but it looked it was at least 12oz. At the end, we tried to share a brownie sundae but after two spoons in, we couldn’t eat more. Taste-wise, no complaints.
The restaurant was a little dark on the inside, we made the mistake not to sit outside. Prices are as expected on Newbury Street.
In summary: only come to Stephanie’s at night if weather does not allow, otherwise try to sit outside to get the best vibe possible; only come when you are so hungry that you can eat an entire horse by yourself; only come if you have enough patience to wait for waiters/food in a half-empty restaurant.

Was seated inside with several waitstaff passing by us for at least 15 minutes. Got up and left.

I’ve been a number of times and always enjoyed the food and service. More recently went and had a waiter, Alex, that wasn’t good. In general I’d recommend it.

We ordered a Bloody Caesar, and it was literally just Vodka and Clamato, no celery salt rim, no Worcestershire, no Tabasco, nothing. The worst egg Benedict I’ve ever had. Hollandaise sauce tasted weird and the rest was very bland in flavour. Staff was chatting and not serving us. We had our plates pushed in front of us, obviously not eating them, and no one came to ask if we were okay.

My wife and I stopped in on a Saturday morning while visiting Boston for our anniversary. We had been searching for a breakfast place and found Stephanie's. We ordered the breakfast skillet, I managed to finish it, although it is huge. My wife tapped out, and were both full from that morning until dinner that night. Out front was busy but inside was nowhere near as crowded, and they have plenty of space. Next time we visit Boston, we might stop in for lunch to see how that menu is, but overall it was good and exactly what we needed.

My Boston native friend Janelle and New Yorker native me enjoyed the relaxed Fri lunch at Stephanie's with great seafood, wine, and service very much!
It was fun to do people watching on Newbury Street while enjoying typical Boston seafood such as New England Clam Chowder and Fish and Chips! This is my new favorite place in Boston!
