Just had sushi for the first time here with my girlfriend and it was absolutely amazing. The service was lovely and the food was amazing. My favorite was the ikura maki that came with the sushi deluxe we ordered. We also had some pork gyoza with a delicious sauce. Absolutely ordering from here or visiting in person again.

We walked 20 minutes to try this place because of the high rating and was truly disappointed and ended up getting another lunch right after.
There was no greeting from the owners behind the counter, even though we were the only guests. We eventually picked up the menus ourselves, only to find that the prices were higher than comparable places.
For $40, we got two rolls, paper plates, disposable chopsticks, two small bottles of water — and not a single smile. The rolls were bland. I honestly don’t understand how this place has such high ratings. Definitely a spot to avoid.

Place is tucked away and tiny but if it’s a just 2 people it’s a lovely place to sit in and eat food. All the fish was extremely fresh and delicious would go again

We went on Valentine’s Day knowing it would probably be a crazy wait. They said it would be a 2 hour wait, so we walked somewhere nearby for a drink and ordered Sushi Guys takeout and it was actually done quicker than expected! The sushi was delicious! The fish was so fresh and the combinations were unique and worked so well together.

This is definitely a hidden gem of Southie! The sushi quality is top notch and the value is great for the level of food you get. If you have a small group that you're eating with, the combo platters are a great choice for variety and value. The staff are incredibly warm and accommodating. They will adjust for any dietary restrictions. With limited seating, this is much more if a take out restaurant than an eat in one, but we've done both.

I stopped in for lunch though ordered from the regular menu. This is a very unassuming, no frills spot when it comes to the tableware and interior, but wow, the sushi is truly legit. I ordered some of the a la carte omakase pieces -- all were good with the hamachi and scallop as the personal favorites -- and The City roll. While there, I spoke with one of the owners, who was great. It's very small as the others mention, but the sushi was awesome. I would very highly recommend the place for the food, and I think the no frills element makes me like the place even more because they clearly focus on serving excellent sushi.
