Meet up at the server was excellent attentive answered questions that we had. I was an overall great experience. Highly recommend this location.
Couldn't have been happier. Ashlee was very attentive and pleasant, and food and drinks were all excellent.
The food and the service were excellent but the scrimp small amount of scotch I was served neat was obscene. I realize that restaurants make their money on the drinks but unless you start giving a more generous pour I won't be back. It took all the good feeling out of the experience
Great experience. Will definitely return. Lots of gluten free options and i did not get sick. Drinks were very good as well.
The manager Mike is extremely Rude , he should not work in customer service as well as the bartender Louie . The restaurant had closed and after tipping the bartender over 20% they were extremely rude to my party , and we said we’re just finishing our drinks will head out, maybe they shouldn’t give us drinks at 12:55am If they would be rude and kick us out at 1am on the dot , the manager was like if you won’t leave I will call the cops on you . Super unprofessional. And the bartender started arguing with us , and when I asked for their names and information they gave me the number to the restaurant to talk to an automated machine . Completely unprofessional never had this experience before , will not be dining with them and maybe you should adjust your hours if you plan on kicking out your paying customer at 1 on the dot , don’t have the restaurant opened until 1am on a Sunday . Worst experience ever , never been treated this bad by a manger and bartender .

Return visits are absolutely warranted so I can try a plethora of food and bar options! The talented and knowledgeable Russell was a joy to have as a waiter! (Hope you were able to take care of that R-13 without issue 😉) Food, atmosphere, staff were top notch!! Looking forward to our next Tavern dining experience!!

My husband and I were celebrating a milestone, so we went out to town and went to a tavern in the square. The food was delicious, the service was fast, and we enjoyed every second of it. And for what we got, the price was right. We will be going back.I got the bang bang broccoli which was out of this world. I know it's only starter however it filled me up.

If you are looking for a celiac safe/gluten free spot this is my go to!!! Super strict and knowledgeable about cross contamination. It's always so nice to be able to go to a bar and actually order food. Perfect for brunch, lunch, dinner, and late nights
Took my wife there 10/28/25 for dinner before the Bruins game. Food wasn’t bad, service okay also. The issue is the manager allowed a group of 30ish next to our table with only four chairs for them. They were like buzzards all around us making it very uncomfortable. They stared waiting for us to leave so they could have the table. When leaving I said something to the manager who stands at the entrance. Which was a good view of where we were sitting. He told me he didn’t notice this. They were all in the middle of the island hovering our table and theirs next to us. At leaving the restaurant and paying then the manager offered to do something. Won’t be back if we want to enjoy ourselves.

Wow. Just wow. When we came in about a month ago, the service we received was absolutely exceptional. Our server was knowledgeable about food allergies and very helpful in accommodating them. Additionally, he was patient and attentive even though we were heading to an event and rushing in and out of the restaurant. Not to mention, the food was phenomenal. You would have no idea the fish and chips and mac and cheese were gluten free. They were some of the best of those items I've had since I switched to eating gluten free. Although the restaurant was a bit loud, that didn't detract at all from how wonderful our experience was.

We stopped by Tavern in the Square after a day of travel, and it was the perfect spot to unwind and grab dinner. We were greeted right away and seated quickly in a cozy little booth that felt private and comfy. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was great, and our server Russell A. was top notch — super attentive and friendly the whole time.
We started with the whipped feta, which was a mixed bag for us — I’d give it a 4/10 but my wife really enjoyed it and rated it closer to a 7/10. For mains, I had the crispy ranch chicken sandwich with fries, and she got the ahi tuna bowl. My meal came out hot and fresh, fries were perfect, but the sandwich was a little heavy on the breading and could’ve used a bit more flavor (thankful for the ketchup and ranch). My wife loved her tuna bowl — said it was flavorful and really well done.
Something that really stood out to me as someone with food allergies is that Tavern in the Square is a completely nut-free restaurant. It was such a relief not having to mention my tree nut allergy or worry about cross-contamination — it instantly made me feel safe and comfortable dining there.
Overall, great service, nice environment, and solid food after a long day. We’d definitely come back!

The portion sizes are truly american .. the coffee the breakfast burrito. I don't think I could finish more than 50%. Order less than you think you need.
