Went here for my birthday dinner ......The staff was friendly and gave a warm welcome when we arrived . We ordered bang bang broccoli which was amazing (fried) and fish tacos . My first time eating at this restaurant and it seemed like a decent place but not considered “an elevated dining experience” as described online. White tablecloth would have given an elegant vibe . No offer from our waitress for a birthday treat or wishes so we ended going elsewhere to celebrate ! 🧁🧁 Wondering why they call it “tavern in the square” - not a inn/tavern and not located in a square 😂
Great service and food! We have a few allergies in my family and the servers were very helpful and made us feel very safe!
We are an English couple in Boston for the week. The food and drinks were excellent Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable Highly recommended
Fast and friendly service. Delicious food - our table had the salmon bowl and the chicken potpie. Would definitely recommend.
Good food and service! Would come again. Chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries were delish!
Our server (sorry can't remember her name) was very nice and was clearly very knowledgeable about the menu. I am coeliac and require gluten free food and the Mac and cheese was absolutely delicious. They even had gluten free beer which was an added bonus. My wife also really enjoyed her black and blue burger. Well worth a visit and we'll hopefully return the next time we're in Boston
The bruins game was on a tiny screen on the side. This is the hometown team, Boston is a hockey city, and this place is right across the street from TD garden
Good place to grab some food before a game or event.. be prepared to have to wait, it gets very busy

My partner is celiac and Tavern in the Square had lots of gluten free food options for him to choose from, including gluten free fish and chips! I had the fish tacos with a side of tater tots and a blueberry beer, which were delicious. The place was vibrant and quite busy, but the service was fast. We can't wait to come back next time we're in Boston!
Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options!

Fantastic food with a good atmosphere and lots of gluten-free and vegetarian options. My wife is Celiac and finding safe food for her is super difficult, but this place has a lot of options and the staff were both knowledgeable and friendly. Conveniently located near the Blue Line station.

My family & I came here because of their extensive gluten free selection. To say we were blown away is an understatement. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive to our allergy. The manager takes extra care for GF allergies, bringing the dish out by itself instead of with the rest of the food that could include gluten.
Our server E was welcoming, informative, & took extra care of us especially our allergy! We would highly recommend any other Celiac people to try this place. The fried pickles … were phenomenal!
Dietary restrictions: We have a family member with celiac.
