After a full day touring Boston we dropped into Teddy’s for a drink. We had the great time enjoying good drinks, food, games, company with the best bartender Nelson!! Boston did not disappoint and this was a great way to end our night!

To the people who left a bad review, GTFOH.
Teddy’s isn’t a fancy, uppity restaurant. It’s a neighborhood hang out, pretty much a dive bar, and it’s AWESOME!!!
Good music, good atmosphere, fantastic bar pizza, and Nelson our bartender was great!!
Prices are extremely fair for Boston proper and we’ll come back anytime we’re in town.

This is the first review I’ve ever left. I’ve used Google reviews my whole life and I didn’t know how to leave a review until 5 minutes ago. But I feel duty-bound to tell others to avoid this place.
There’s something relatable and human about your average bad waiter. Being a waiter is hard, customer service sucks, customers are annoying, you just wanna go home. All good with me. But that’s not what this was. Our waiter wasn’t tired or checked out; he was dripping with contempt for us daring to walk in and order food. He never said the barest hello, looked at us only to glare, never came back after our initial order, and in a moment so surreal that I found it hilarious, he walked away in the middle of me ordering and I had to finish my order as he was walking away from me.
I’d mention that it’s the worst food I’ve had in many years, but unlike the service, I have technically had worse in my life.
There’s too much great food in this world to waste a night here.

Small historic two story bar with great food! I love their tater tots, as they are well done and not mushy. The Avocado Chicken sandwich was flavorful and delicious.

I've been a long-time patron of the original red hat. Going back a little over 20 years now. I know that it's changed owners. I've even had the pleasure of meeting Jake a couple of times. He's a really great guy. I've been back quite a bit after the ownership change.
The service has certainly gone downhill my last several trips in. I feel like I'm bothering the staff by being there. They're not very friendly, and it seems that they'd rather talk to each other than anyone else.
My previous trip in a few weeks ago was me and my gf. We went on to grab a drink and a bite to eat. We sat downstairs at a table, and both male bartenders walked by us several times. Without exaggeration, we were there for close to 10 minutes until I approached them to order. If that's your policy, then at least have signs up that say so. I'd have no issues with that. Just make people aware. If it's not, then be more attentive. Don't walk by us like you don't see us. The place isn't that big and it wasn't busy.
Last night, we decided to stop in and give them another chance. We stopped downstairs before the Bruins game for a drink and some food. This time, we sat at the bar. Our interactions with the bartenders were very short. Again, it seemed like we were irritating them by being there. So we ordered our food and a drink. Paid our tab and couldn't get out of there fast enough.
I can say that I won't be going back due to the service. Which sucks because it has always been my favorite place to go in the city. When friends would ask me for recommendations, I always sent them there. When friends from out of state would visit, I'd bring them there. I hope that you figure out how to give decent service. I'm not even looking for great, just decent. It would be a vast improvement from where it currently is.
