The staff is very rude. They keep asking you to leave. We were not done with our food and they kept asking g if we're done. It was pretty annoying.
Also, dont get the red curry. It has no flavor and is very bland.

Good food, extremely rude service, demanded extra tip
The Pad Thai was great, but there was an elder lady serving us. From the moment we walked in, this lady was rude and cold to us. After our meal, she asked us to pay up while collecting our plates. We had insisted on offering 10% despite the fact that we got awful cold service from that rude lady.
She had decided to start an argument, demanding 20% and tried to force an extra tip. We would have not minded paying the 20% at all, had a lady been at least polite. I think minimum while working in the Service industry.. perhaps that lady was stressed on having a rough day, but it doesn’t justify treating customers rudely

The food was decent but the experience out of the door left a sour taste. Serving staff is confrontational and lack the understanding of gratuity. They complain that they are underpaid and expect the customers to leave hefty tips for mediocre service at best. I would skip this place for places where the servers know better.

The food was mid and what really made things worse was the fact that despite my dad leaving a $4 tip, we were harassed and humiliated significantly by the staff to pay a larger tip amount. They said things like “you have money to buy clothes but you don’t have money to give a tip” and we were shocked by these comments. Overall horrible experience and be careful to get harassed by these guys when u come in.

Tipping should be a voluntary gesture based on the quality of service, not a requirement. Explicitly asking for a larger tip created an awkward situation and impacted my overall impression of the restaurant. I believe feedback should be respected and guests should never feel pressured about gratuity.

Great spot on Newberry St. the food was excellent and service was good. A bit expensive but not too bad for the area I suppose. Great find if you’re looking for a spot to eat in the area

They’re crazy about tips; I literally sat inside for 10 minutes to eat smth and when i was leaving the woman practically chased after me saying “ excuse me you didn’t write the tip for 18% suggested tip” ?? really unprofessional behaviour as it should be up to the person what they want to give , enforcing it is pathetic, unprofessional and definitely a first for me.

Restaurantji Recommends
I ordered Thai soup... it's just water with chicken and chapinnes, how shameful to call it Thai soup, disgusting, eating cheap noodles for $2 would be much tastier.I was left hungry, only a child could eat this soup

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I’ve never left a review in my life (let alone a negative one), but this experience was so shocking. We left a very reasonable tip despite the place where we were sitting smelling like garbage and the food being far too sweet, only to be chased down and harassed by the server, who insisted we should’ve paid the “suggested” tip printed at the bottom of the receipt. Suggested doesn’t mean mandatory, and I see this at the bottom of every restaurant receipt I’ve paid. He did not let us leave peacefully and escalated the situation with rude and entitled behavior that was completely uncalled for, essentially demanding we pay the suggested amounts.
An older woman (I believe the owner) made it worse by throwing in a few racist remarks along with some very rude gestures. As we were walking out in an attempt to leave the situation the waiter said to us several times, “If you can’t afford to eat out, eat at home, don’t come here.” If you aren’t satisfied with how much your customers tip, then add automatic gratuity to your bills. And make sure your restaurant doesn’t smell like waste. Don’t embarrass yourselves by chasing after your customers like this. It’s unprofessional, disrespectful, and frankly pathetic.
Save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else. I don’t know how they’re still in business.

The food and vibe of the area was very nice. Ordered red thai curry and basil fried rice with tofu. The fried rice had a great amount of quantity, and tasted very good, just like the red thai. However, there was one staff member, a senior, who insisted on asking me and my family to pay more tip when we already tipped 8%, but while one of our members was in the washroom, they reviewed the bill and asked us to pay for 15% tip, even looking back at our check multiple times. She was even ready to calculate how much extra we had to pay. Although the food was great, the service from this member was unpleasant, while the other younger staff members were nice with us. While the receipt said “suggested tip”, she was practically forcing us to pay more. Aren't tips supposed to be a choice?
