Walked in without expecting much, left feeling like I’d just found my new hideout in the city. The place hums with that quiet confidence of somewhere that doesn’t need to prove anything. Dennis slid over a drink before I even asked, said “trust me,” and somehow nailed exactly what I wanted. The pork nachos shouldn’t be as good as they are, yet here we are, smoky, messy, perfect. I caught myself zoning out at the bar for a minute, just watching people laugh, the kind of real laughter that doesn’t sound rehearsed. No fake smiles, no pretension, just people doing what they’re good at. It’s rare, but this place actually feels alive.

I'm sitting in the restaurant with my colleagues and I asked for a drink. I waited 20 minutes and then had to call the restaurant to get a drink. When I called to speak to the manager to patiently explain the situation, and asked him to come to the table. After he came to the table, he acted like a jerk, was rude and then lied about the situation. Absolutely ridiculous experience and I'm the only black woman at the table. Won't be back.
Situation got worst when I stuck up for myself. Then the waiter, not sure his ethnicity proceeds to tell me he's black and how could he be racist against a black woman... Welp misogynistic and racism aside, this isn't a safe space for black woman. The white manager, the white female employee were aggressive towards me, the black employee wouldn't serve me. Etc. Horrible experience.

We happened in by chance looking for something local and we were not disappointed. Beer cold, Cuban was excellent. Even my wife liked it. Definitely return.

I come to Boston once a month. When I do I make sure to come to the Hill Tavern for lunch every time. Highly recommend the carnitas tacos. As well as their chili. I highly recommend if your in the area to try this place out

Seems like a nice kind of quiet place to go and have some drinks. Not being a drinker we were there just for the food.
Starter: we got Nachose. They upcharge $6 for meat on the nachos so we went with the cheap option as it was just an appetizer and we didn’t want to spend $20 on an appetizer at a bar. There was nothing bad about them. Nothing great about them. Chips, salsa (tasted a little better than what you would buy in a jar), guacamole (pretty good), sour cream, sprinkled cheese, and queso the the bottom.
My food: I got the steak bomb. It’s basically a Philly cheese steak on French bread. It was ok, nothing special.
Wife’s food: she got some kind of ginger salad with salmon. She loved it!
Daughter (9): kids meal with chicken tenders. I thought the tenders were good. She didn’t like them. They were more like chicken cutlets than tenders. White meat very good.
I have visited this lovely place twice after attending concerts in the area. Its small, Bostony, and not pushy. The staff is friendly genuine. And Funny! The pork nachos are delicious and theres enough to get stuffed on. I will return.

Came in after work and was served immediately by Dennis. He was great! He recommended the pork nachos for my friend and I to share and he knocked it out of the park with the recommendation. The atmosphere was great especially if you want to hangout in a cool bar on a hot day!
