Our maître d'hôtel, Mimi, was perhaps the best hostess I've had the pleasure of meeting in Boston. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Steak was extraordinary.

I was on a date and my server - Carlos P - made the date a EXPERIENCE! He gave me the best service I’ve ever had. The steak and drinks were already incredible but his service truly made me want to return at the next closest opportunity/occasion. Thank you Carlos!!

The Vermilion Club has a beautiful and stylish interior, but unfortunately the food and drinks didn’t live up to the setting. The fish dishes didn’t taste fresh and had a strange aftertaste. My friend and I ordered two different cocktails with completely different base spirits, yet somehow they tasted almost identical — which was quite disappointing. On top of that, the service was slow and the overall dining experience just didn’t meet expectations.

How do I give this place 7 stars!! Sit at the bar if you can. Drinks are amazing!

Food was very good. Restaurant is nicely decorated with a beautiful stained glass sculpture hanging from the ceiling. One big problem, the restaurant was empty on a Friday night at 7 pm. We asked the waitress and she said that weeknights are busier with a “corporate crowd,” and weekends are more “mellow. It definitely was mellow.

Not at all a bad spot for lunch. Paid 45 for a lot of food, all were decent. The french dip was a bit too salty for my taste though. Fantastic view.

A Chic Hideaway with Upscale Vibes
Nestled in what feels like one of Boston's hidden corners, The Vermillion Club offers a distinctly modern take on the steakhouse experience. Stepping inside, you're immediately struck by the beautiful ambiance , a sophisticated and inviting space that earns a solid 5 stars for atmosphere. It possesses a certain charm that makes it equally suitable for an after-work gathering or a cute date spot.
The service was notably wonderful (4 stars), attentive and friendly, contributing significantly to the overall positive experience. However, the pace was a touch deliberate, so be prepared to settle in and enjoy the company.
While billed as a steakhouse, The Vermillion Club leans more towards a stylish after-work hangout with a curated menu. My experience with the grilled octopus fell slightly short, presenting as a bit dry (3 stars for food). The menu does feature pre-batched cocktails, so if you prefer your drinks less sweet, it's wise to inquire beforehand. Interestingly, while the overall price point is on the higher side, the beer selection stands out as surprisingly affordable.
The vibe here is undeniably great, making it an ideal spot to unwind with friends after a long day and grab a drink. It's clear The Vermillion Club has carved out a niche as a chic and trendy destination.
Overall, I'm giving The Vermillion Club a 4-star rating. It's a delightful spot with a fantastic atmosphere and excellent service, though the food execution could be more consistent. Be prepared for higher prices, but the unique ambiance and appealing drink options make it a worthwhile visit, especially if you're looking for a stylish alternative to the traditional steakhouse scene in Boston. Just remember to bring your wallet $$$ !

Cool hidden away spot to grab a drink and light bites with a friend in an area that doesn’t have a lot of great options.

The service was great — everyone was very nice and lovely. We had the Caesar salad, which I really enjoyed; it was very refreshing, and they added anchovies, which was a nice touch. The beef tartare was okay; I’ve had better tartare before. The steaks were very good, and they offer a house sauce that you should definitely try — it was delicious. Finally, I didn’t like the drink I ordered. It was a deconstructed margarita that I had to mix myself, which was interesting, but I didn’t like the taste.

Below average cocktail, rude manager

The atmosphere, cocktails, and service keep me coming back. I typically sit at the bar with the gorgeous glass Chihuly art above. A great, low key place to catch up or enjoy solo.

Back in the fall, we hosted a work lunch as we are in the building. Our group was separated, half received food, the other half did not until we complained. It was a Friday, and many people ended up leaving to get home or back for meetings. Had high hopes it would be our go to lunch spot

Came in last night for a birthday dinner, the place is nice inside and there is parking right next door for a good price. I started off with a pina colada, as well as 3 others at my table. We all agreed it was the worst drink we ever tasted. I ended up going for a daiquiri for my next drink and asked if it could be done strawberry. She said yes and brought me over a regular one. No problem I just wish you told me it couldn’t be done. This drink tasted like pure lime juice. Next we ordered apps for the table and everyone seemed to enjoy. For my entree I got a filet with potato’s and mushrooms. I did end up trying the mac and cheese which was good. Portions very small. Overall ok experience and has a good view of Boston.
