Needed a last minute reservation for Friday, and the manager Jeff answered. I can not say enough good things about him. I explained the desire for a quiet area if one existed, maybe something scenic too and he had just the place in mind and reserved for me. I arrived and was seated and he came over to introduce himself and see if things were to my liking and offer any and all assistance if needed. You could tell he really cared about our experience, especially when my date arrived. He continued to go above and beyond to ensure we were happy. I dont think I have ever been treated so well in any dining experience in my life, especially in my first time somwhere. His staff was attentive and everything went amazing. The food was delicious. We felt at home and spent almost all night at our table, they never rushed us out, they made sure we knew we were welcome to stay and how happy they were to have us. 10/10 experience, will definitely return.

We approached The Westland about a large party dinner reservation a week before. Every step of the way Jeff was friendly, easy going, responsive, kind and funny! He bent over backwards to accommodate our needs and stay within (in fact UNDER) our budget. He could not have been more of a delight to work with. The location, space and menu were exactly what we were looking for. We could not have had a more ideal situation. We are forever grateful to him and his team for working so hard to make our event a huge success. The food was delicious, plentiful and at a reasonable price. Thank you Jeff

There were about 6 or 7 of us. Probably 50% of our party was late. The team there did their best to handle our tardiness. I appreciate their flexibility. Everyone said they enjoyed their food. Orders ranged from fish and chips to Bolognese. The decor of the restaurant was quite nice. Great romantic restaurant. I would eat there again.

The Westland used to be good.. right? I remember having decent pre-symphony meals here in years past. Tonight’s food was beyond bad.. salmon croquettes had fish bones, and parts of them were so overdone, they were as chewy as fish jerky (is that a thing?!) Short ribs, which I remember liking before, were dry with the bare minimum amount of sauce. Given this is used in 3 menu items, maybe make more of an effort? Bar service is good but why make people sit at the bar and demand reservations for a mostly empty dining room while serving subpar food? So disappointed, maybe it was an off night for the kitchen but it’ll be a long while before I come back

The Westland had great service, a nice festive atmosphere, and decent food for a no frills brunch. Chose to go here for given the cozy and festive decor that was perfect to catch up with friends just after the new year. The food was nothing too fancy and decent overall. Seems like a few dishes can be hit or miss, e.g. the cinnamon bun was a bit over toasted and not great. Might have been a mistake with the one. One of the best gluten free buns I've had dining out and had no issues with gluten exposure.

Dietary restrictions: The gluten free bun they had was one of the best I've had at a resteraunt. Was initially concerned they gave me a regular bun, but another in my party got a breakfast sandwich and had a regular bun. I had no issues with gluten exposure, but be aware that there is cross contamination to avoid when ordering so make substitutions. They were happy to replace homefries with a side salad.

Parking: The area is a lot of permit parking only so finding a spot is a little tricky, but not too difficult

We went to the Boston Symphony's Holiday Pops a m d went to The Westland before the show. It's within walking distance to Symphony Hall. The food was wonderful and our waitstaff was personable. Very enjoyable time.

Very disappointing. We went for dinner before the Holiday Pops at symphony hall and the service was very slow, the food was not good- Steak Frites was covered in brown gravy and full of grizzle. The Mac and Cheese with short rib was not as described and lacking flavor. Given their prime location near symphony hall, I expected so much more. Would not return or recommend.

Good bar very close to the theater. They know their crowd and offer quick service before the show. Even when it looks full, usually pretty easy to find a table.

Great food, even better customer service. Everyone including the manager and bartenders pitched in on a night they were short staffed. Food was great as always but the teamwork on a difficult and busy night is a hallmark of an excellent restaurant !

Well... what can I say? This was very mediocre. Nothing special, service was good, average atmosphere and unremarkable food.
The only highlight was a very clean bathroom and hand lotion at the sink in addition to soap.
I ordered Westland burger but couldn't really taste it because it was smothered with all that it came with and their secret sauce, so I couldn't get what I was eating.
And my wife's martini didn't even come with olives...
