Thornton's Boston Breakfast & Lunch Restaurant

The California wrap with a side of fruit was good, and they were beautiful on the plate. Service is friendly and quick, several of the diners were regulars. And the price was very reasonable.

Food is slightly better than Dennys. Service is mid. Waitress got really pissy over the tip I was leaving and guilted us into leaving an extra $20 for a lox bagel.

I thought this place was very good. The food was good and it was quiet. Of course this was early on a Sunday so that's probably the reason it was quiet.

The breakfast is good, but the service takes a long time. When my order started to arrive, the coffee still arrived, and after 10 minutes, the rest, that is, without my drink. In the end, the waiter got the amount wrong, and I made him return it, even though he added a larger tip than he deserved, and I had given the extra amount charged in the machine when returning it in cash. The service was not good; they didn't serve me more water when I wanted it, that is, they weren't attentive.

Huevos rancheros was served with chili on top. Yep, chili. The kind with beans that you serve on hot dogs. Is this a Boston thing? Service was quick, prices decent, server was a bit irritated, but we easy customers, so no problems.

Lousy service. It took over a half hour for basic scrambled eggs to arrive. And the place was not even busy. When the food came, the order was to include hash brown potatoes, but they only brought cold greasy French fries. No apologies. Coffee was weak and you had to know somebody to get a refill. This is apparently a popular place, but I dont know why. First time in many years that I left a $0 tip.

We stayed here during our round trip and it was by far the best breakfast we had during our three weeks away. The service was also extremely friendly and fun.

We were recently staying in Boston and had planned to visit The Thornton as it was nearby to our hotel. We were impressed with the service and more importantly the food and ended up visiting three out of the four mornings that we were in Boston. Highly recommend visiting.

Had the Irish Benedict it was just OK. I was expecting hot crispy home fries and got some barely warm soggy potatoes that had been in a pan for who knows how long. I wouldn’t recommend I will never go back.

A good breakfast, nothing stupendous. Service was mostly good, waiter was a bit gruff, but ultimately attentive. The coffee is pretty good for a restaurant. Enjoyed sitting outside, prices are reasonable. If in the area and looking for breakfast, this is worth a try. I was disappointed with the hummus, I had higher hopes as the restaurant has turkish/middle eastern leanings.

We had an amazing experience, everything was so tasty! The Alex’s crazy 2’s was a great meal, I highly recommend you try it!! The breakfast bagel was absolutely delicious and the service was great

I absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was amazing (at such a great value!). The staff couldn't be more kind and gracious. And the overall atmosphere was a delight. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

We went here on our first morning in Boston as our hotel was just round the corner - and it was so good we returned on our last morning too. The food is delicious and plentiful - the pancakes and apple stuffed French toast are both excellent and to be recommended. Another table had the crazy twos and it looked massive! A great place to go if you want a traditional American diner style breakfast/brunch.
