Terrible customer service and unclear advertisement.
My friends and I trudged through the rain to sample their penny board flight we had seen on social media. When we went up to order it, the person behind the counter rudely let us know that we needed advanced reservations to order the flight. When my friend asked “and how advanced do we need to book it… do you have any reservations left today?” The lady gave us the dirtiest look, rolled her eyes and said it would take something like 20+ hours of advanced notice.
This was not advertised in their store or on their social media page. When we visited their Instagram, there was a booking page, but again it wasn’t marketed that way in the video. Just wanted to give everyone else a heads up to make advanced arrangements.
Would not return!
Charming café connected to a bookstore, an ideal spot for working or studying. They offer a small selection of pastries and bagels, along with a wide variety of teas and coffees. One standout feature is their monthly coffee flights, which highlight new and unique flavors. You can also order individual flavors, which is a nice flexible option.
I tried the pandan coconut latte, and my friend had the cinnamon latte. She also ordered a bagel—while it wasn’t her favorite and she found the cream cheese portion a bit modest, the overall coffee experience definitely felt worth the visit. When dining in, drinks are served in actual glassware, which adds a charming and elevated touch.
Overall, a warm and inviting spot nestled within the Seaport.

I drove over 45 minutes to come to get one of their specialty coffees I have been super excited to try. I arrived 30 minutes before closing and the refused to make anything that wasn’t iced coffee or tea that was already made. Horrible customer service to close your machines 30 minutes before closing. I used to be such a fan of them in eastie but clearly since moving to the seaport the nuce small business is no longer.

Great spot for this local gem. We miss the cart in Eastie but it's fun to hop on the boat and visit the seaport. Extra points that it's hosted in a book store!

The most incredible hidden gem in the Boston Seaport. Went over with a coworker after we heard about the coffee and matcha flights, and BOY did they live up to the expectation. Such a clever business model, quality drinks, and tons of fun baked goods from various vendors. Cannot wait to go back for the coffee flight!

Why would you advertise a promo on Tik Tok without any details? We traveled 55 minutes to get a flight and was told we could book it on like and get it in 15 minutes. After trying to book online they told us no and refused to work with us even if we were willing to pay for full price drinks instead of the flight price. Staff seemed clueless. On the brightside, the book store was nice.

Wrong drink was given to me & got a lot of push back about correcting the order since I want what I paid for. Remade drink was watery and lacked flavor. Probably will not be coming back.

The best cold brew in the seaport! Must visit.
I love coming to this cafe! Not only are the specials so creative, but even their normal menu has lots of great options! There's tons of fun flavors to choose from, but none of them are overly sweet. Really amazing cafe, and I love all the Baristas! They are all so sweet and make my day!

I’ve been eyeing this café for a while, so I was really excited to try it! I met up with a group of friends on a weekend morning here. I was really shocked at how negative our experience was:
1. Pastry and bagel options were extremely limited, which was shocking for a weekend morning, when supply should match expected foot traffic.
2. The absence of seasonal drinks/requiring a reservation for the coffee flights was not clear. I was expecting cute specials, but that info was not easily accessible or posted anywhere.
3. It wasn’t exceptionally busy, but all of our drinks took quite a bit to be made.
4. All of our coffee/tea orders were made incorrectly, whether it was a wrong size, wrong milk, and/or wrong flavor.
5. As someone who’s worked in food service, I’m super understanding of mistakes like the above. However, myself and my friends were met with defensiveness/resistance when addressing our drink issues politely.
I never write reviews, but this really was a letdown. I would love to see the menu options and service improve in the future.

TravelMug Cafe is everything a neighborhood coffee shop should be — welcoming, vibrant, and full of personality. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the love that went into creating the space. The staff is friendly, the coffee is top-notch, and the vibe is laid-back but intentional.
If you’re in Eastie or the Seaport, make the detour. This isn’t just a place to grab a coffee — it’s a place to feel connected.

I tried to order the coffee flight and the lady said “no” and then said “too much work, come back later”. There was no one else in line. I’ve never been turned around for something being too much work and to come back later when there was no one else in line. Bad business model.
