We had a very good experience at Umbria on this past Saturday night. Food was excellent, service was excellent. Place was busy but no too loud, appropriate spacing between tables. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was for value. Some of the items were priced accordingly but they charged $100 for one crab leg. It was delicious and had a good amount of meat in it but probably worth more like $60 and they still would have made a good profit. The shortage is over, it just...

My reservation was for 6:45 PM, and I arrived 30 minutes early and told the hostess I would wait in the bar. The Manager came over, saw the computer screen, and asked the hostess to provide one of the empty tables for my friends and me. That was fantastic customer service. The server was fantastic, explained the food in detail, offered choices, asked what kind of wine we would like, and was an excellent salesperson for Umbria. We really do love it here. Food has been consistently delicious. Ambiance is wonderful. Loved our waiter Ken (I think) . He was outstanding. We were initially seated next to the kitchen door. The table/booth is adorable but the light, cold air and noise that hit us every time that kitchen door slammed opened was a real distraction. We asked to move and they gladly accommodated us. We got to keep our waiter! Just wish there was a way to block that door somehow.
