The chicken sandwich was similar to Dave's hot chicken, decent but not exemplary. The mac and cheese was horrible, It had no flavor. The best part of the meal was the cajun fries. If I was in a pinch craving a spicy chicken sandwich I would come here but, I wouldn't go out of my way again for it.
Also the drinks sold separately from the "Combo" is very disappointing.

They used to be really good but portions got a lot smaller when they put the fries in these tiny cups. They also switched all their packaging to styrofoam which I’m pretty sure is bad for your health. I usually avoid styrofoam restaurants and thought this place was so modern and chic with great food, sauce, and portions.
I miss the brown box containers and the fries overflowing around the sandwich but it isnt the same anymore. You get more fries in a small from mcdonalds and charging $7 for a tiny cup is insane. It’s the same size cup as a $4 tomato soup from Roxy’s grilled cheese and there’s air all between the fries. I’ve always liked the mild or no heat seasoning level because they had the most salt and flavor, but the last time felt like it was a lot of breading/crisp. Over time, the pickles have been less crispy too and I don’t really like non-fried pickles so I just stopped ordering them.
The staff have been pretty nice and friendly, and give me comeback sauce which I thought comes with the order and sometimes they toss in an extra. They didn’t give me any comeback sauce last time :( and with all these changes I guess I won’t comeback

Was one of my go to places to order for fantastic chicken, but stopped accepting orders over an hour before closing on uber eats now. I understand not wanting new orders when it is close to closing time but over an hour is ridiculous for those of us that try to get food before an overnight shift.

Stay away unless you want over priced food that’s made incorrectly and slow service while being near empty. Place is horrible and couldn’t make a simple chicken sandwich. Got the fried pickles on the side and it may be the only thing they can’t mess up. Sauce was all over the bag. Wish I went an hour later so it would’ve been closed and I could’ve saved money.

This review is just to the fried pickles, the sandwich and slushes are perfection but THESE THINGS undeniably experienced a generational falloff. The portion used to be massive, damn near filling the hollow space in the box, and the pickles themselves were often nice and crunchy. Now they just give a tiny cup, and they SKIMP on that batter to the point where some of them might as well just be the pickles they get skewered on top of the sandwich. These used to be what kept me coming back often but they've declined so hard. I always wonder if maybe now I'll get a good batch and that was just a fluke, and my trust is betrayed without fail every time now
Mac and cheese is not good. It's spiral pasta and a cheese sauce with breadcrumbs.

I ate here when the first opened awhile back. Everything was amazingggg. Recently I decided to visit this place since it’s been awhile for me. Question, what the fawk happened?! Did management or ownership change?
Context: I gotten a 3 piece drumstick, 3 piece wing hot, cajun fries and potato salad.
The chicken? Bland. Just spicy but not a DROP of salt could be tasted. I mean presentation and look of the chicken was fine and it was fried to perfection , but where was the seasoning?! How do you nail the spice level but not the flavor? Man that drove me mad especially for the price of $22.
Cajun fries. They’re good. They’re crispy, you can’t mess up fries. But the portion is insanely ridiculous especially if I paid an extra dollar to make it Cajun and not just regular fries for my side.
Potato salad. AWFUL. HOW?!!! It was also bland as hell. The only thing that helped was the sweet corn but other than that it tasted like potatoes tossed in some cream. No depth of flavor you’d expect from a traditional potato salad.
For a total of over $30 I was just so disappointed. I feel like the quality went down , portions decreased but prices spiked up- if you spike the prices up , at least put some effort into adding flavor into your food pleaseeee. Just what the hell happened ? Old underdogs was so insanely good but now it’s just fried spicy garbage

This place used to be the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Great pricing for what you get. Now they’ve bumped up the prices, given less portions, and the food just isn’t what it used to be. Chicken isn’t very juicy anymore, fries are always soggy, everything is just sub par now. I miss the old underdog.

I've ordered from underdog a few times and these are my takeaways. The food is fine, but nothing out of this world. The chicken is actually pretty good (like a 8 out of 10), but with how visually appealing it looks, you want it to be just a bit more flavorful. The sides are what really bring underdog down for me. The both lemon pepper fries and Cajun fries were ok (6/10). The Mac n cheese was middle ground, not bad but nothing spectacular (6.5/10). However you should definitely avoid the fried pickles and also the underdog sauce was a bit too ketchup heavy for me so I wasn't a huge fan. Also the fried Oreos were fine flavor wise but they were dripping in grease, which made them pretty lack luster. All is all the upsides are definitely the chicken and also the kale slaw (which was surprisingly really good), however I would avoid the sides and the Oreos since they were a bit lackluster.

This chicken sandwich is delicious however extremely pricey. $18 for a combo and as you can see from the picture they are EXTREMELY CHEAP when it comes to the fries.

This was a superb chicken sandwich. I got mine hot, which was very good spice level, heat, but not crazy. The Cajun fries, fried pickles, and kale slaw were all very good sides. If you like cole slaw, do try the kale slaw. The portions of everything were robust. My only complaint would be how full I was after eating all that delicious food.

My go to spot for fried chicken. Consistent every time! Be cautious with the heat levels. The slaw really compliments the sandwich and is not over bearing. The fries are amazing! Highly recommend the lemon pepper fries and the Cajun fries
