If you are coming here expecting culinary revelation, you will likely leave thinking you have paid for the setting. If you want to say you have eaten in one of America’s oldest continually running restaurants, with a decent plate of oysters, then it does exactly what you want. Take it for what it is: history first, food second.
It is very much on the tourist trail, and the presence of its own souvenir shop tells you exactly what kind of place this is.

As one of the oldest operating restaurants in Boston, it definitely shows. They have that place running like a well oiled machine, it was perfectly timed from the time we sat at our table to thr time we asked for the check, our waitress was punctual in introducing herself got out drink order, came back with drinks and house made corn bread ( now I hate corn bread) but this cornbread I actually asked for more it was amazing lol, ok back to my review were the hell was I.... We had the lobster ravioli. It was pure perfection! The sauce is exquisite.
The oysters and cornbread were delightful too.
The customer service was just as wonderful. The lady working the giftshop offered to watch our bags and the server was a hoot and really on top of things.
I can't wait to go back!
