Easy lunch in a busy part of town with many office buildings, there are just enough tables inside Uptown Cafe. I'd read the reviews and decided before arriving that the meatball sub was the thing to get and so that's what I did. The sandwich was called out a few minutes later and I was able to dig in. Came here a few times for lunch over the summer. I really enjoyed the Sicilian steak sub. It's basically a steak and cheese sub, but it's a very good one - mushrooms and the roasted tomatoes that it comes with were a great addition to this sandwich. The bread that they use to make the subs is fresh, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. After hours of Women's March madness, we stumbled into this spot after seeing how packed every other place in Beacon Hill / downtown area was. Throngs of pink Pussyhats and "Free Melania" and "Stop Agent Orange" signs paper-cutting the hell out of people smushed into all the neighborhood restaurants. Marching makes everyone hungry, ya'll.
