I hate to give a subpar review but I was very disappointed in a recent visit to Ward 8. Having visited this restaurant in the past, I was looking forward to a great meal and great ambiance. Unfortunately, the restaurant was HOT. Like, uncomfortably hot. I will give the benefit of the doubt that it was a hot day in Boston and air conditioners might not have been working optimally, but the floor fans set up around the restaurant did unfortunately detract from the overall experience. Either the fan was blowing directly on me and I felt like I was in a wind tunnel, or otherwise I felt like I was going to die of heat exhaustion. Further, I ordered the salmon with the fish cooked well done, and it still came out pretty raw in the middle and had to be sent back to the kitchen. They did fix it, but it's just quite disappointing overall. I will consider trying the restaurant again in the cooler weather months and give it another chance!

Love Ward 8, come here a lot, friendliest staff, best food and great drinks. Only downfall is the AC must be broken or something, super hot and stuffy especially on a 90 degree day. Needs to be fixed asap for summertime! BEST drink made by JJ

Truly the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I usually go here for dinner/ drinks and it’s always been decent. We sat at the bar for dinner and I ordered a turkey burger. It was served completely uncooked, as soon I bit into it there was raw meat. I asked for it to be cooked and 20 minutes later I got a new turkey burger that was still completely raw in the middle. At this point, my boyfriend had been done with his meal for 20 minutes. The staff did nothing to make up for this and I left hungry. Truly disappointing and frustrating experience. I’ve never left a restaurant hungrier than when I came in. I will not be returning.

Stumbled upon ward 8 after walking home from a concert @TD gardens, and WOW!!! I was blown away by the quality of their late night menu and their attention to detail crafting every cocktail. Everything tasted better than it looked. Their duck wings specifically were to die for.

Great service! Awesome, varied menu with vegan options. Had a Rye Flip and it was excellent! Nice beer options on tap as well. A bit quiet, I'm sure, as it was around 8:30 on Sunday night. The bar is huge!
We met here as a family between skating competitions at the Garden. The pros were that we had a great table in the front. They were accommodating about the last 2 of our 6 showing up after the first 4. They had vegetarian options. Our food overall was tasty. Service was relatively quick. A few cons The music was a little loud to have a conversation across the table My crab cakes came w an excessive amount of sauce The Mac n cheese wasn't cheesy enough for my daughter The waitstaff could've been more attentive (eg empty water glasses for quite a while). Drinks were very pricey

We made a reservation for three the week before and specified we needed a standard table. We called the restaurant when we were five minutes late to tell them we were en route. The hostess told us people were at our table waiting for us. We said that was incorrect and that clearly the restaurant had given our table to someone else. When we arrived less than 15 minutes after our reservation, we were shown to a high top, which my wife with a cane cannot use. We told the hostess we needed a standard table. The hostess was rude and in a snarky voice said “That's the only table we have left.” We asked for a manager, who thankfully was able to rearrange tables so we could have a standard table. Once we were seated, service improved.
