Before the Seaports were a tourist attraction, before lobsters were even considered a delicacy on the menu, Yankee lobster was and still is a must see place.
The seating and dining arrangement is like Australia. Order what you want at the counter, they will provide a cowbell and you pick a place to seat; outdoor seating does not have a view of the wharf just city street view. The indoor seating is rather crammed, and the constant barrage of folks coming thru the doors to order food can be rather distracting. I suggest outdoor seating if weather permits.
The food prices are okay, the beer prices are cheaper than others, and considered it is in the commercial tourist area close to the wharfs it is acceptable. Was with a group, I ate 12 raw oysters and a 1.5 lb lobster dinner. I should have done 2 lbs. Was still hungry tbh. the lobster was well done, but coming from Canada, this Maine was almost the same as a Halifax lobster. Halifax is much cheaper. Spent $100usd for the meal, with 2 draft beers. For a Canadian, it is steep, but worth it.
Pictures really don’t do the lobster rolls justice. They are PACKED with the best quality pieces and absolutely huge - it’s quite possibly one of the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had.
I ate here twice on my trip to Boston and New Hampshire. Both times the food was excellent. They have parking, for customers only, beside the building which is awesome. The Lobster roll, hot buttered of course, was good as well as the lobster bisque. The real highlight for me were the clam strips and the clam chowder. You won't be disappointed either way. It's a small place with limited indoor seating but worth stopping by. Enjoy!
Very fresh tasty seafood with reasonable price
After a few days in Boston, this place served up my favorite lobster roll and bisque without question. Having both of the best at one location was an added win.
This joint has you order at the counter and try to find a seat somewhere. There’s a fair amount of options, though it got pretty busy and full at one point.
It’s a simple menu and really solid output. My hot buttered lobster roll was HUGE and soooo delicious. I almost couldn’t finish it due to the size. Fortunately, it was so tasty I could help it. Made the price tag feel fair.
The visit was amazing too. A small cup had 2 ginormous lobster claws in it. Again, so much food for such a good sticker price. And that’s not even getting to how savory and flavorful it was!
Overall, a top experience in downtown proper.

Great lobster! Great service! Cool atmosphere! Lobster roll and fried clam strips were awesome! My wife got the three pound lobster, it was excellent, but lucky for me, she couldn’t eat it all

Our first fish and chips lunch since arriving in Boston was highly disappointing! Too much breading on the fish and they were almost to the point of burnt. Couple of minutes longer, and I would’ve returned mine.
The building is very small, so there is not a lot of seating except for the outdoor patio, which was heated. The staff was very friendly but again the food was a letdown.

Can be a little bit busy but if you time it well you will be fine. They do take aways. Good beer and fresh seafood served here. Recommend!

Luckily, we were steered towards this local hole in the wall eatery. Food delivered to the table quickly, hot and divine. If you are in the area make it a priority to visit. Indoor and outdoor seating.

The best place in town for lobster rolls. Order at the counter and find a table, and the food will speak for itself. Not a formal sit down and order restaurant, but also not a fast food place.
