I found this restaurant while a was looking for Japanese food, the food was very good, I had chicken catsu which was very good. The service was fast and the guy very polite. The place is very clean. The restaurant is right in Boston downtown very easy to get there.

Solid spot for sushi in a great location! Zen Japanese Grill and Sushi in Boston is conveniently tucked in a prime spot downtown—super easy to get to whether you're walking from the T or driving nearby. The prices are totally reasonable for the quality; you can grab a fresh sushi roll or grilled teriyaki without breaking the bank (entrees around $15-20). Service was friendly and quick, portions generous, and everything tasted authentic. Only docking a star because it got a bit crowded on a Friday night, but overall, worth a return visit! Highly recommend for casual Japanese eats.

Authentic sushi place. Sushi and appetizers were very fresh and delicious. Cozy atmosphere and great service. Saki was great. Only comment was would be great to have more of an expanded bar menu. Definitely recommend.

Been there twice now, great place. Food was delicious and unique flavors you dont see at every sushi place, specials were delightful and truly special, also different both times we went. Service was spectacular, servers were very nice, friendly, funny, and provided good service. Definitely recommend

I ordered through Grubhub. The deliverer never showed up. When I called, she just hung up the phone. So I called Grubhub and they sent the same deliverer next time. Of course, she did the same thing. I wasted 2 hours for 2 time orders. When I called the restaurant, they told me they didn’t have to be responsible for Grubhub orders.

Our group of 3 were able to place a reservation within 2 hours of attending on a Saturday. We were sat at a nice table inside. We loved the atmosphere. We ordered the fried chicken, fried brussel sprouts, spicy edamame, alaska maki, new wave maki, and the spicy kimchi pork ramen.
The sushi was very fresh and flavorful. I REALLY enjoyed the kimchi ramen.
What stood out to me most was the staff’s accommodations to our gluten and egg allergy. They offered us adaptations and triple checked to make sure there was no contamination. I recommend this spot if you’re looking for some sushi or ramen in downtown.

Love this spot. Great food at a good price, especially when Pete does his specials. And he's always willing to accommodate for dietary needs, food allergies, etc. Hell, he'll even throw together some off-menu dishes by request as long as he's got the ingredients in house!
Tons of beer and liquor selections available, too. Especially when it comes to whiskey.
The owner is a great dude and staff will always treat you right as long as you don't act like a frickin idiot.
Karaoke is always fun. The list fills up pretty quick on weekends though, so show up early!
I had a waitress named Susan, asked her to order me whatever she recommends. 14/5 would absolutely recommend. Hands down best server I have ever had
