It was great except the Zuma signature lava cake - for close to 10 years it was filled with hazelnut or butterscotch filling. This year, the filling had hardly ANY flavor! I will only order in the future if the old filling comes back.
We stopped here at the end of our night to have a quick drink. The vibes are amazing and we couldn’t leave without a little sushi. Our few bites just melted in our mouths. A fantastic spot for date night, or just a quick drink. All our drinks were to die for as well and the service was perfect. Next time I’m in Boston I’ll be coming back.

We had the brunch menu. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh. Service was great too. Worth every penny.

I had one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had at Zuma during my husband’s 40th birthday celebration. We booked a pre-planned tasting menu in advance — the kind of menu that naturally runs longer — and the pacing of the entire evening was fully controlled by the restaurant. We were also ordering and enjoying multiple bottles of wine throughout the night, so we were clearly engaged, celebrating, and spending.
Despite all of this, while we were still in the middle of the meal (again, timed and paced by them), a manager came over and abruptly told us that if we didn’t leave within 15 minutes, we’d be charged an additional $500. It was shocking and deeply embarrassing. We weren’t lingering, we weren’t delaying the meal — we were literally eating the courses they brought out at the pace they set.
As a result, we were essentially rushed out of the restaurant. We didn’t finish our dinner, and the dessert we had prepaid for was never served. What should have been a special, celebratory, thoughtfully planned evening ended with us feeling blindsided, unwelcome, and pushed out the door.
For a restaurant with this reputation and price point, the lack of professionalism and respect was unbelievable. I would strongly caution anyone considering hosting a special event here — the experience completely ruined what should have been a memorable night.
Great spot for a date night or a girls night out! Ordered sushi and the wagyu gyoza both were delicious & flavorful! I will say this restaurant offers small portions and is pretty pricy but definitely worth going at least once! It's definitely an experience!

Zuma is not bad among Japanese restaurants, but it's not top-notch. We were a bit disappointed. I think our expectations were too high. We went in expecting the food to be good and standard, nothing outrageous. What about the atmosphere? It was spot on. Thanks anyway.

Allison was amazing! She knew the menu inside and out, made great recommendations, and kept us laughing the whole time. Super attentive and such great energy!
great service and food; music was loud and clubby but not bad; my dad had eating restrictions due to his health and they were very receptive to that
Incredible restaurant with ultra flavorful dishes. Huge thank you to our server, Hang, who has made our last two visits memorable. Impeccable service.
My husband and I agree that this was one of the best meals we've ever had, but be careful when they tell you it's small plates! Many of the plates are entree size, especially the steaks. However, it was all delicious. Our waitress just recommended 3-4 dishes per person and that could be a ton of food depending on your order. We ended up having plenty of food with the toro sashimi, a spicy tuna roll, the pork belly skewers, the strip steak, and the corn!
The place was very nice, and we tried the most expensive Omakase. The food was delicious, but the portions didn't feel worth the $230 per person price tag. The dessert was outstanding — truly the highlight of the meal — and the service was excellent, a full 5/5. Overall, it's a great restaurant, but I wouldn't choose the $230 Omakase again. Next time, I'd probably order directly from the menu instead.
