I wrote a long review, dissecting each dish I ate, but I honestly felt like there was so many negative things that it almost seemed unfair to post, so I will keep this as simple as I can.
The food looks good on paper. The menu items sound amazing and the ingredients all go well together. That said, the delivery was incredibly disappointing. The flavors and appearance were underwhelming and absolutely not worth the cost. I spent $200 for my wife and I to try various plates and we left disappointed, hungry, and feeling like we had been ripped off.
Oh yeah, and their dessert menu is one item: chocolate mousse. The only problem is that its actually not mousse at all, it's ganache. Not even close to being the same, other than both having chocolate as an ingredient.
The atmosphere was great, however, and our server was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was just not good, or maybe we came on an off night, idk.
I won't be returning anytime soon though, which is unfortunate because I believe a Spanish tapas bar would do very well in Beacon Hill. But for $200 in food, I should not be hungry, nor dissatisfied, when I depart.

My daughter and I were visiting Boston, and we made reservations here because we heard the squid ink risotto was a “must try”. This restaurant is quaintly located in beautiful Beacon Hill, and the weather was perfect to sit on the patio (though we opted for indoors). Our sever was very attentive and guided us through any questions we had about the menu. He even recommended what ended up being our favorite bite! I’ve listed what we ordered, and what we thought:
1. Beef Tartare - Ok, maybe a little too much acidity, but because my daughter had never had it, I was grateful they offered a small bite.
2. The olives with anchovies- I wasn’t sure at first, but not I’m thinking about them, I’m wishing I had them. Definitely for people who enjoy salt!
3. Crab salad- Probably the least exciting thing we ordered.
4. Grilled octopus with fingerling potatoes- Don’t think twice! ORDER IT! So yummy!
5. Wild Mushrooms- Holy moly! My daughter was skeptical about the egg, but once you crack that yolk on everything, it provides such an umami 🤤 (Our server recommended this, and I feel like I should send him a Christmas card now.)
6. Squid ink risotto- This is what we came for. Maybe we had high hopes that it couldn’t live up to, but it wasn’t my favorite. Rather than a risotto, it tasted like an orzo pasta. The goat cheese made it a great consistency, but it also seemed to over power everything else.
I also had a glass of Sangria and my daughter had a Sprite. For $98, it was a great dining experience!

The warm welcome and decor reminded us of Spanish tapas bars. Our delightful server Isabela asked about food allergies, and personally consulted with her chef to mark every entry on the menu that could pose a problem. The wine list was excellent, and I enjoyed a bottle of Estrella Galicia that was a fine accompaniment of our delicious pintxos and tapas. The Pimientos Rellenos de Bacalao was delicate and exquisite. The superb Croissant de Ibérico featured as perfect a serving of jamón ibérico as we could recall ever enjoying. The star of the evening was the Pulpo Pantxa. Perfectly grilled octopus was complemented by fingerling potatoes. Beautifully presented. Truly outstanding!

I’ve been to Zurito twice now, and each visit has been excellent. The attention to service really stands out—I was seated quickly both times, and the staff made the whole experience smooth and welcoming.
Even though it’s in Beacon Hill, where space is usually tight, the restaurant feels open and comfortable (with outdoor seating available as well). The menus are extensive, both for food and drinks, which makes it fun to try a variety of flavors.
I highly recommend sampling a few pintxos— Caña de Cabra (goat cheese with marcona almonds on a baguette), pan con tomate, and Gildas are all fantastic. The special of the night, lamb chuletas, was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Tapas like the tortilla española, pulpo plancha, gambas plancha, and the hamburguesa Donostia were also highlights.
The prices are elevated, compared to what you’d find in Basque Country, but this is Boston, after all.
Zurito works equally well as a lively group spot or a cozy date night destination. A welcome addition to the neighborhood and one I’ll definitely return to.

My friend and I had the best time trying a charcuterie board with manchego and jamón serrano, burgers, gambas, and patatas bravas. Loved the sangria! Thank you very much!
