THIS is the homemade ice cream I'd been searching for all week!! Most of the places we'd been going to all week just resell pre-made Hershey's or other brands you can just get at the store, but you can taste the delicious difference between Whistle's and the others'. The service was also excellent, and the prices were very clear, unlike at other spots. Between the two of us, these were our thoughts on the 4 flavors we tried...Vanilla: 8/10 (vanilla flavor could have been stronger)Coffee Heath Bar: 8.5/10 (says it's super strong coffee flavor, but even kid's would like this; it's like the sweetest latte with bits of toffee)Chocolate PB: 9/10Almond Joy: 7/10 (not as coconutty as I'd want; the coconut flavor was super faint)We'll be back next time we're on The Cape!!

We were at Mashpee Commons and came across this shop. What I liked:1. They let you taste the different flavors so you can see what you like.2. They have some unique flavors such as coffee kahlua brownie3. You can have 2 flavors even if you're only ordering one scoop.4. Cool miniature train up above

Disclaimer: read this review with a grain of salt. This was my favorite ice cream place when I was a kid and I have a lot of great memories here. including sitting at the window eating ice cream and saw my friend rear end a car. You might ask why he didn't break in time... Well he was head banging of course. (A form of distracted driving before cellphones existed) Soo ya a lot of great memoriesReview: The place is awesome!

Great small town ice cream shop. Real ice cream. Wide variety from frappes to sundaes to regular cones/dishes and an awesome treat called the Oreo Smokestack. Friendly staff who were making homemade waffle cones to order.

We have been going to the Whistle Stop regularly for over a year now and we love it! The owner and staff are very friendly and the service is quick. Prices are comparable to other ice cream places on the cape, and you get great portions. Ice cream is delicious and my husband raves about the waffle cones year round (says they’re the best he’s ever had). They also have a fridge full of yummy looking ice cream cakes and treats for sale. We do wish that the hours were open a little later during the off season as we sometimes aren’t able to make it in time after dinner, but absolutely recommend the Whistle Stop.

We just happened to go by and stop for a treat. Wow ? home made ice cream that was the best we ever had . It was pouring rain and the owner took the time to cover cups and put in a bag. He's not open every day. Just thurs thru Sunday. Been around many years. You must stop by and try the many flavors to choose.
Great place to eat there but some workers that worked there are very mean and rude need to learn manners grow up seriously I dont care what u think of me steve f.

Their ice cream IS very good, not as crowded as "other" place in town...which I DO love too however I will say, ice cream is not as CREAMY. (Pros and cons on that) I did have an experience of not getting the correct change (I should have counted as it was significant) however the manager was very gracious and reimbursed me what was owed a couple of days later. We will return!!!

Great ice cream set in a mock train station. The ice cream is rich and flavorful with especially great coffee flavors, chocolate and the base vanilla. Prices are very reasonable for the Cape and their sizes are generous. Service was fast and friendly and it has the true feeling of an old local shop. Definitely the place to stop in for ice cream in the area.

Tonight was the second this store has closed early, after I had called and confirmed their hours of operation. On a holiday weekend. I can't support or recommend a place of business if they can't stay open for customers who might not be able to get there when it is convenient for the merchant. I have a feeling this space may be open next year in the Commons.
Best of the best!!
