My favorite ramen restaurant is now in the south shore! Always loved their sapporo style ramen and their chicken karage. Also has a decent beer selection too!

Edit: they also now have house made noodles, now my favorite item on the menu, the pai ten ramen, comes in spicy and non spicy

Update 11/12: service is much better and food has improved
Extreme slow service and food is much more oily compared to the Brookline location

Best ramen I’ve ever had. Hands down. Wicked rich flavor. Highly recommend. The Tan-Tan ramen is a must.

I gave this 5/5 before but my latest experience was not as good, hence 3/5.

In the last year we visited 3 times and really liked Tantan and Sapporo miso ramen. The service was very good as well. All that, made the long wait time worth it.
During one of our visits, the pork smelled really bad but we looked past it as everything else made for a pleasant experience.

Today we decided to visit again. We were very excited due to the menu additions.
We tried the taitan, curry, and shoyu v2 ramen.
The food was good. The broths were tasty and creamy although the shoyu v2 was too fatty.
We also ordered the fried chicken with a side sauce. The staff was confused and brought two sauces, charging us for the additional sauce they brought even after we pointed out the mistake.
Lastly, the water glasses smelled really bad.

While the food and the service was overall good, these two aspects of the experience made me much less excited to return back anytime soon.

Had a meal here the other day, not the first time but suddenly on a Saturday night, the Tan Tan became so salty, later asked a friend and he told me it's only good when the owner is there, bro, what??? Ruined my date night and waste my money...I spent the whole day to told my date how's good the restaurant was, but in return, it became just like other restaurants around the town like it is.

Food is good, drink is best, customer service is just so impressive. Music isn't too loud but is fair enough to enjoy conversation with others, as well as filling quiet moment gap. They pay good attention to detail and ready to serve whenever we need. I have't seen them short of staff yet. They sre always there to assist.

We're a mixed Japanese American family and this is the first authentic Japanese we have found on the south shore. We will be back. Almost felt like we were in Kanto but the music, うるさいだよー

Cool spot with good service. The Gankara Miso ramen was ok but nothing special I would definitely try something else if I came back.

We come here everytime we are in boston, from new hampshire, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there is no take out but everything else AMAZING!!!!!!!

First time trying this Japanese noodle place. The pork dumpling were cooked perfect and delicious. The fried chicken thighs were also delicious. I highly recommend the Tan Tan noodle soup. We also had the Yakisoba noodles gankara style( beware, very spicy)but very good. The music was kind of loud, there's nothing on the walls or ceiling to absorb sound. Definitely try it.

I’ve been going to Ganko Ittetsu in Brookline for over 7 years and it’s sad to say that I prefer going to this location despite having to drive an extra 30 minutes. I love both locations and I’ve been a longstanding fan of Ganko Ittetsu, however this location has more options and it’s way less crowded :). (Part of me does not want to leave a review about how less crowded this place is compared to the Brookline location). Alas, every time I eat hear, the staff has always been friendly and I feel the need to share. This location has a lot of seating and it’s nice to not have to join a waitlist everytime.

I also LOVE their Yakisoba and I have a hard time not ordering that instead of ramen. I’ve tried almost every ramen here at this location and it’s all great. Go have fun and pick something new to try- you won’t be disappointed!

Stunningly mediocre ramen in an unremarkable atmosphere. Visited with wife twice, last time a few days ago. Bitter notes in the ramen ingredients, scarcely any meat (one thin slice), unflavorful broth that is overly fat. Please get your ramen in North Quincy, there are at least two spots I know of whose ramen is a whole lot better. My qualifications: when younger, did a grand tour of Japan eating all kinds of ramen, from competition-winning to mom and pop
