We saw this place recently on Phantom Gourmet. Drove 1.5hrs from CT to give it a try. Wow. It was as good as they said. Drinks were great also. We loved it all!!! Our waitress Mandy provided us with such good service!! She was awesome. We told her how far we came from just as small talk and she mustve mentioned to the Manager or owner and he gave us a free dessert (chocolate cake which was AMAZING!!! They made our night. Cant say enough good things. Definitely try this place if you can. We ll be back on date nights....

Visited this establishment and grabbed dinner with my friend. Our server was attentive and accurate. But, beware there are mice sightings in the dinning room. They are probably cold and crawl through the heating ducts but, it did surprise me to see a few furry critters scurry around the walls. The Buratta is delectable, the shrimp scampi however a bit too oily and lacking flavor.

Food was okay. Haven't been here in a long time since before the remodel so figured I'd give it a try.

Got the burrata which was good. Chicken marsala which was also good... Needed a little more flavor? My friend got shrimp scampi which had a ton of tomatoes.

We both got iced tea and it tasted like bottled nestle ice tea, which was frustrating.

Waited 15min or so after we were done to even see a serve to get a box to go. Looked like 1 server was running the whole restaurant and the manager was food running? I understand times are tough to get workers, it's all good.

My friend looked over and while we were waiting, saw a mouse run across the floor of the dining room under our feet and run under another table and into the walls, and we saw one or two tails by the heating vents.

I felt like they were going to be running up our feet or something the entire time we sat there as we were against the wall...good neighborhood staple and I want them to be successful, but I probably wouldn't be back any time soon. For similar pricing, I have local favorites that I know I can get consistent quality and service at.

We hosted my mother’s 80th birthday celebration in the upstairs function room at Maria’s on 2/8/26, and it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish.

The planning process began with the owner, Zac, who was incredibly responsive, accommodating, and easy to work with. Organizing a milestone event can be stressful, but Zac made everything feel seamless and manageable.

When we arrived on the day of the party, Mandy and Gio greeted us warmly, and the room was beautifully set up and ready to go. The space itself was perfect for a private celebration — comfortable, inviting, and ideal for gathering family and friends.

Throughout the event, the staff was exceptional. Mandy was especially attentive and kind, frequently checking in on my mother to make sure she had everything she needed. Matteo went above and beyond handling the tech so we could play a video on the large screen TV without any issues, while still assisting guests throughout the afternoon. Gio kept everything running smoothly and ensured the event flowed effortlessly. Zac was also there overseeing that every detail was taken care of and checked in with me a few times to be sure I didn't need anything.

They also accommodated dairy and gluten allergies without hesitation, which meant so much to our guests.

We absolutely loved hosting our celebration in Maria’s function room and would not hesitate to hold another event there. I highly recommend Maria’s for any special occasion — they truly made the day memorable.

Had a great dinner last night! The food was excellent, but a special shoutout goes to our server, Giovanni, for his fantastic recommendations. Every suggestion was spot on and really elevated the experience. Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly service — we'll definitely be back!

We booked a private room here for my father's birthday with 15 people. The service, food and experience were all excellent! Prices were also reasonable. They were also very friendly and easy to communicate with for the event. Don't hesitate to check Maria's out for dinner or to book for a corporate or family event!

Despite a small delay with our food due to a kitchen mix-up, our experience at this restaurant was truly enjoyable. The manager, Giovanni, handled the situation with great professionalism, kindness, and genuine care, making us feel welcomed and well looked after. Our waitress was equally attentive, friendly, and apologetic, which made a real difference.

The service overall was excellent, and when the food arrived, it was absolutely worth the wait. Situations like this can happen, but what really matters is how they are handled—and in this case, it was done perfectly.

We will definitely come back and happily recommend this place for both the quality of the service and the warm atmosphere.

It had been a while since I tried this place and I decided to check back in. It would have been better off a memory.

To start the waiter was standoffish and led us to some dingy, wobbly table that was barely larger than the cobweb filled plastic lamp that filled its center. The silverware was dirty and the water glasses had visible lip marks on them.

After a generous amount of time we were allowed to order. The caprese was perhaps 4 thick tomato slices with an equal amount of thinner mozzarella and maybe a single basil leaf. The chicken parm I used to love was a watery mess. The sauce, if you could call it that, was the consistency of salsa. I suppose it's a good thing the meals were so wet because I never did get the second drink I ordered despite being charged for it.

With another roll of the eyes from the waiter we were finally permitted to pay and leave, thankfully, and so we never have to return.

Maria’s Trattoria: A Throwback Reimagined
Maria’s Trattoria has always been a clutch move. I started coming here in high school—usually on a date—when the place had a different look but the same heart. Family‑style dishes, warm smiles, and that mural on the wall that somehow made the whole room feel like a memory.

Today, the mural still stirs something in me, but everything else has been beautifully renovated and re‑imagined. The chef is a true magician, building Italian flavors in layers—notes that rise, settle, and surprise you with every bite. Nothing here is rushed. They take their time because doing it right is the point.

There’s a small function room downstairs for about fifteen and a larger space upstairs for bigger gatherings. The bar is modern and chic, with plenty of ales on tap, and the pizza—crunchy, quick, and deeply satisfying—is perfect for a casual stop‑in.

And the food… just look at the plates and you’ll understand. Then reevaluate your life choices and get yourself down there to savor the flavor.

My Top Picks
Wild Mushroom & Lobster Ravioli
Rich, aromatic, and layered with earthy depth and sweet ocean brightness. It’s the kind of dish that makes you pause mid‑conversation.

Arugula Salad with Crusted Parmigiana
Crisp greens, a bright lemon pop, and that perfect crunch from the cheese. Light, refreshing, and beautifully textured.

Chicken Parmigiana
This is where Maria’s shows its soul. The chicken arrives perfectly pounded, tender, and still juicy beneath a golden crust. The sauce isn’t just tomato—it’s a slow‑built symphony of garlic, basil, and sweetness, each note unfolding as you eat. The mozzarella melts into the edges, creating those caramelized corners that only happen when someone in the kitchen truly cares. It’s comfort, craft, and nostalgia on one plate.

Maria’s is still the throwback I remember, just elevated, refreshed, and ready for the next generation of stories.

Our friends from Walpole saw Maria's on Phantom Gourmet and suggested we go there. We live in Braintree and haven't been to Maria's since it was done over. It has always been a great restaurant with good food. The renovations are very nice and tables are spaced appropriately so you feel that you have a private space while dining. It is a small restaurant and you can eat in the bar area or in the restaurant. Our server was beyond exceptional with such a beautiful personality. She brought us homemade popovers which you never see in restaurants. We had very good cocktails and I had the swordfish special which wasn't as good as a seafood restaurant. The other 3 in my party had Italian food and they thought their dishes were excellent. The prices are good, too.

Got there for 4:30 reservation. Didn't get out of there until after 7:00. parking lot there was horribly full, side road is a mess. Our server was not the best. . Took forever to take drink orders and messed several of them up. Food took a while to to come out and not all together understand there was a party upstairs but downstairs was pretty empty. Owner looked in on us and realized our table was a mess with empty drink glasses and dishes had a bus boy come in to help clear it up. Food was just okay. Very big portions that pretty much no one was able to finish. Salads were mixed greens (not a fan) tomatoes, onions pepper which I prefer iceberg. Pizza was a 6, Ordered additional drinks but only got half of them due to server forgetting. Party order espresso martinis and dessert seemed to be ok
