I want this place to be good so badly. I really like the vibe. Unfortunately, it can't be. The price was too high for such less alcohol in my drink. It's more like juice to me(but it tastes good tbh). The bartender could make things better, but she couldn't be careless. Hate to say that it will be my first and last time going there.

2nd time at BoP, last time as well. Drinks were decent per usual, brought some friends here for the great atmosphere. However, the strangest thing kept happening. Two different waiters, both our main waiter and someone who kept passing by, kept grabbing our drinks with at least 1/4 full without asking if we were finished, happening to 3/4 of the people I was with, twice. Thats at least 4 dollars in each of those drinks, taken off, considering how expensive the drink is. And then, 1 hour and 20 minutes into our reservation, our waiter comes up to our table, after hastling us to pay the bill, stating that "I'm sorry guys but we need the next party in here, you guys have to leave", barely letting us finish our drinks. Talk about poor service. What's crazy about this anti-customer practice, is that its so antithetical to the environment they are curating, a cozy and intimate place to share drinks with friends. Felt more like an Applebees by the end of it. What they have to realize (and as I have been reading more reviews, "Ran" seems about as arrogant as I can imagine to implement this kind of process), that BoP is good, but it isn't THAT good, and Boston has a lot of #1. better cocktails and #2. better service not even a walk away.We won't be back.

Nothing disgusts me more than owners and GMs who think they are owed sales and customers simply for existing. The response to the person critiquing the price of the cocktails is absolutely abhorrent and deserves to go viral for how tone-deaf it is in today's world. He should know better as Ivory Pearl officially closes this week due to its ridiculous mismanagement and offensively priced menu items that drove the initial staff and customer base away. As if pouring 0.5oz of ANY liquor is somehow justification to charge 30% of the bottle per drink in the first place. The problem is they care about buying Audis while slashing their employees hours more than they do about how their customers wallets fare at the end of the day. Why would this surprise anyone? They've done absolutely nothing to show loyalty to repeat customers and regularly ignore any complaints or advice that comes their way.I also noticed how they couldn't be bothered to respond to the 10+ 1-star reviews that addressed the rude bartenders, they only wanted to respond to the one that hurt their feelings on a personal level as business owners. The arrogance of the people who run these bars is beyond astounding. I gave one of them the benefit of the doubt for a long time but after branching out myself and being promoted in one of the biggest venues in Boston I've come to realize that was erroneous thinking at best and honestly the GM is probably the biggest scumbucket I've met in this city. They are amateurs compared to the people I work with daily and I no longer care about the bridges being burned because they aren't worth being connected to in the first place. It's time to grow up, instagram followers don't automatically equal a good business.....you get what you give in this world and you deserve to be called out for this. Get off social media and start doing the REAL work that needs to be put in.

Rude server, terrible service

This place was a hidden gem; even their entrance felt hidden. We came here after dinner to drink; we ordered three rounds. We tried Rio to Tokyo, San Juan to Hanoi, Lima to Dubai, Pennies del cielo, and Guavaleada. It was interesting that they mixed flavors from the departure city to the final destination into a drink. All drinks are presented beautifully, and you really can taste the alcohol. Since we both can't drink without snacks, even though we had dinner less than half an hour ago, we ordered the wagyu temaki, snow crab temaki, negi toro temaki, and yuzu rotate temaki. The quality of the ingredients was fresh, and there was not much rice. The menu is limited; don't come here if you expect a full meal unless you want to eat a poke bowl and/or are willing to pay a lot more just for small bites. I am willing to return if I am around the area for drinks and small bites.

These were the best cocktails I've ever had. Cocktails may actually have been ruined for me forever. The flavor combinations were so unexpected and creative and paired so perfectly together. The hand rolls were also delicious. I can't wait to come back. I'll definitely go out if my way to come whenever I'm in the area. Good job guys. This is a big win.Tell ya mamas, wives, friends. Bring them here. It's absolutely worth it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went to Birds of Paradise for my birthday. The entrance is a bit hidden, but it plays to the hole-in-the-wall vibes. The inside is a basement-turned bar with a very intimate ambiance and modern decor.I really liked the interesting concept for the cocktails: fusing flavors from two destinations. The drinks were all very good; I could taste all of the ingredients that were listed for the drinks that I got. However, the alcohol was not heavy, and some drinks had too much ice. I also got the tekka don, which was expensive and not filling, but it tasted fresh.Overall, Birds of Paradise is worth the visit for the experience, and I recommend sticking to the drinks rather than food.

I tried this place out but wasn't impressed by it. I went there once and I really don't want to go back there to give them a second chance since I think it's over priced and the quality of the drinks doesn't justify it.

Was really excited to try Birds of Paradise. Atmosphere was great. Cocktails are unique and delightful, albeit a little expensive, especially for the quantity. Food is a little limited if you’re not a sushi person, but enjoyed the gyoza. The surprising part for me was the service. We sat at the bar and had interactions with both of the bartenders and neither were friendly. In the slightest. (And I’m a Bostonian, the bar of expectations is not very high here.) But it got to the point where we wondered if they’re trained to be rude to customers? Maybe that’s the vibe they’re going for? Certainly didn’t make me want to come back anytime soon.

Perfect spot for some of the most thoughtful craft cocktails ? in the city, plus their decor and ambiance are spot on. A cozy and intimate, well designed space, with friendly bartenders who make an assortment of curated cocktails and great food reco’s… while the food ? is absolutely delicious as well. Recommend for a small friend’s gathering or a cute date night spot! ??

Interesting theme and solid cocktails. The prices are bit absurd though and pushing the upper boundaries of what you'd expect to pay outside Manhattan.

I’ve only had drinks here so far and they are delicious and varied. Can’t wait to try some food one day too- ai just always go late night for coziness and cocktails.
