Peka is a truly special place. Great menu! It navigates through classic dishes from Latin America. Drinks are awsome. And if you want to dance, they offer live music on Saturday evening.
The reservation was made for the live music but they sat us on the other (quiet) side even tho there was a table available closer to the music we decided not to say anything bc when we came in it was so loud - people were belting karaoke without restraint. As a Latina I was ok with it but I do not consider that live music lol including for a restaurant to be by reservation on OpenTable - there's a certain level of refinement I was expecting. The prices are incredibly high for the type of food they give you - rice, plantains, quesadillas, yuca are not expensive foods. It seems their idea of refinement is giving a small portion size with a high price tag. But the quality and creativity of everything isn't there. I was given a shot glass size of guac with my greasy quesadilla and the salmon looked like 0.25lbs when an individual portion size is 0.5lbs. And my partner said his rice came out cold! As a Latina this place just seems to be seeing what they can get away with and the class they try to project is an illusion. To summarize- there are many better options with similar food elsewhere. I feel bad leaving this review but it's like if they don't change they're going to lose.
It took 15 minutes to order my food. 35 min to get my drinks. I got my food before my drinks 🤔. Food was good but the music was incredibly loud, I shouldn't have sat where the live music wasnt! Server was nice and apologetic because of the drink situation but I won't be going back there.
This is truly one of Brighton's hidden gems. The food is 5 stars and the mixologists are also top notch. Come on a Friday or Saturday to enjoy live Latin music or celebrate your birthday here and enjoy a surprise with tres leches! Shout out to Andy, the server who was so attentive, professional and fun!

Ten stars. Stopped in on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Immediately blown away by the excellent decor and warm welcome. Our group ordered the tequeños, roasted pork arepas, tortilla chicharrón soup, Cuban sandwich, and Venezuela brunch. Everything was absolutely delicious, and portions were generous enough we needed to go boxes. A perfect meal, we can't wait to go back.

First 2 times I was there was very good, so I decided to take my sister my family out to this restaurant to celebrate their anniversary, but it was the worst experience. First we weren't seated where I asked for when i made a reservation then food was coming to our table at different times , driving we had to wait for 30-40 minutes , when we asked for second round it took almost an hour. Waitress was extremely rude, wasn't not apologetic at all and didn't speak English - that's a huge NO communication was a big issue. We had to write everything down for her , very frustrating.
Delicious food and margaritas! Ambiance was great with live music. We will definitely be back soon.
My first time going on Saturday. Food was average. I feel like you can make it at home. If anything buy groceries and make it at home. Save your money. costumer service was very poor. Our food came before our drinks. We had to ask for our drinks. One of our friends food did not come out. We waited 20 minutes for her dish to come out so we can eat all togther. Tacos pretty average. Probably 4/10. Mine didn’t have a lot of meat on it. I was pretty bummed out the entire night. Like if you wanna spend money for average food by all means go ahead. Probably only good thing is the music.

Rats in the patio. Overpriced appetizers— ordered the shrimp and tostones and they served me TWO tostones with two pieces of shrimp. $15. For the price point, I would expect more than this. Water is $7. Server did not specify this. Mojitos were good tho. Music could be louder

We loved the vibe and decor of the restaurant! And they really know how to celebrate a birthday! The food and were all very delicious! And the music was great fun! The only the only thing that could have been better is the attentiveness of our waiter. We constantly had to ask for him to come by because he seemed to disappear and not check on us hardly at all.
