Yamato Japanese Steakhouse

I’ve been here a dozen times and this was my first weird experience. I was taking my mother out for her birthday and when we got there they had us wait off to the side and sat other customers first. We had to say something to be seated. Once we were they started to weirdly segregate seating. We are Black so they said a Black family with us and sat the white families at separate sections. Towards the end of the meal, the waitress brought the check before asking us if we wanted anything else(my mom wanted dessert). It was just a weird night of micro aggressions. Not sure I’ll be back despite the tasty food.

I only ever got food to go, but they were extremely friendly and helpful, especially since I have really bad allergies and need specific food. They did everything perfectly and if I'm ever down that way again, I'm definitely going back.

Terrific terriaki shrimp and terriaki beef. Hot tea, crabmeat sushi, salad, brown and white rice. Bubblegum bubbly.

The young man who serves DoorDash delivery drivers is rude and tried to attack a boy who was looking for food, he doesn't frequent this type of place that has no respect for people.

went there today for an early birthday thing. first time. loved it was outstanding.

Overall it's a nice restaurant. The hibachi cook really made the experience special. He was friendly and very talented. I went on Father's Day so it was very busy but that didn't have an impact on the overall experience. I like that the hibachi dinners here comes with rice and noodles. Other places only include rice and noodles is usually a separate charge. We had a group of five people. I had the filet mignon and lobster tail.

I made a reservation but they gave my table away and made me wait quite a while. The food is good but only because of the show the chefs put on, otherwise I could do better at home. The atmosphere is good but kinda crowded.

This was my 1st time trying Yamato. I ordered on Door Dash for a lunch and so pleasantly surprised how good the sushi was. It was so fresh and flavorful and if my camera had worked could have showed you! Usually I have found on delivery you don’t get what you ordered. In my case I got more! I thought I ordered tempura shrimp. I got the 2 beautiful shrimp, along with tempura veggies too. It was so delicious and will be back! Thank you for a really nice and yummy experience!

The service when we walked in wasn’t great. The guy sat down a party who was missing people but when it came to us missing one person he told us we had to wait, not a big deal but fair is fair. We sat down immediately and we got this nice waitress. We were there to celebrate mom’s birthday and they had this fancy birthday sign, she even offered to take pictures. The food was amazing, from the vegetables, to the salmon, the shrimp. It was just so perfect, hot and fresh straight off the hibachi grill. The waiter was very friendly and entertaining. I highly recommend.
