TDLR: we gave a 12% tip for dissatisfaction, and the waiter chased us all the way out to our car and called us “axxholes”. I regret giving any tip.The food is fine but pretty slow. I was starving waiting for the ramen (which came out after 30min). The entire restaurant only had 5 tables at that time, so it was not busy. We waited for the roll for 1 hour.

Pure Elegance. Beautiful decore, soft jazz music playing, and perfectly plated meals. Don't judge this place by the outside.

Serious Japanese restaurant. My wife and I tried almost everything here and cannot find anything disappointed.BTW, I hope the owner could be nicer to her staff. You should be happy if you own such a good restaurant.

Shiki is good, all the dishes are great, they have more authentic Japanese dishes that you won't find at most sushi places around the city. The downside is that it is comically overpriced for the size of the dishes. They will tell you it is "tapas style," which is fine, but it is totally overboard with the small dish size relative to the cost

I saw others reviews and thought I may want to give this place a shot. But my own experience was disappointing. The size of the dishes were small yet pricy, and the waiting time was reeeeeally long

Amazing authentic Japanese food. Great staff, great sake selection, great menu! Some really good "deep cut" foods you won't find at many similar restaurants.

I almost never write reviews but need to warn others against this place. I ate here twice, one at lunch and one at dinner. The most recent time was lunch, there were only two other parties eating. However it took 45 minutes after ordering for our food to be served. We did not receive warning of this at all. My food was served 15 minutes before my partner’s, so he only got to eat after I was finished eating. Also in the 45 minutes wait for the food, no one even came over to refill our water. This was with the restaurant being really empty, the servers were going around with nothing to do but wouldn’t refill our waters. Then after 10 minutes of our food being served, they came over with our check without being asked. They then came and checked 3 times in 5 minutes whether we had put down a card for the check. We were still not finished eating and I told them this every time. Us waiting 45 minutes for the food and they want to kick us out after 10 minutes of us eating it.The time prior I was here, it was during dinner. Our group waited 30 minutes for our food, and we wanted to add some sushi. They made us wait additional 45 minutes for that sushi.Terrible service overall. Don’t come here unless you expect to leave upset.

This is the most authentic Japanese I have been in Boston by far. This place has the real Japanese sushi. Also their mini Hokkai don is legitimately good. Their Uni is so fresh and no sigh of bad flavor, very sweet and creamy with no bad smell. Over experience is excellent. And I highly recommend this place for people who love the original maki and sushi.

I loved my meal! It had delicate flavors, and it was not overly seasoned. Everything balanced well. I highly recommend for anyone missing Japan.

The food was great! This menu is more or less dim sum which I like because then you get to try more things. The broiled mackerel was fantastic. The service was slow but we were warned that would be the case when we walked in because a lot of parties were seated at the same time. I will be back!

Some of the most authentic Japanese food I have ever had outside of Japan! The food was delicious. Although the portions are small, the flavor is big, especially with the fish I got. The service was not exceptional, but it was a busy time of day. The food is relatively expensive for the portion size but the overall experience is worth it for authentic food.

Excellent Japanese food. They do sushi but they are really known of the small side dishes you can order in addition to the sushi. Really really expertly made and always reliable. So good here. They do takeout too but I find it is better to eat in the restaurant to take in the ambiance.

My girlfriend I went to Shiki spontaneously for a date night. We were sat down immediately, and it seemed that they were short staffed, so the wait for food was around 40 minutes. But we were completely fine waiting, and the food was worth it! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, and it was very clear that all the ingredients in each dish was good quality and cooked to perfection. The staff were kind, and were very thoughtful/accomodating when I mentioned that I am not a fan of seafood. However, if you are a seafood fan, my girlfriend said that everything she had was tasty! Overall, the experience was very pleasant, and you really can't go wrong with your order.
