Taqueria El Barrio Reviews
I have celiac disease and despite having almost no posted gluten free options on the website they insisted that I was not allowed to bring my own food. This is for a work event so I can’t avoid going. I refuse to trust a restaurant that will not let me bring in my own food, which is an ADA violation.
Yesterday we were at Time Out Boston and ordered food with the new online system, from 2 different stores. One order was delivered quickly. For the other food order we received a text that stated:
Hi xxxxx, $xx.xx has been refunded to the card ending in xxxx. View your updated receipt: gotab.io/.xxxxxxxx~bn~/receipt

Discriminatory and rude behaviour by the manager and some staff. They wouldn’t accept the official Greek ID even though they could cross check the data with a scanned copy of the passport.

Taqueria El Barrio is one of the few places in Boston that offers authentic Mexican-style tacos, featuring various regional sub-specialties. The staff is friendly, and the food is phenomenal, with generous portions and an excellent array of salsas available at no additional cost. The tortillas are handmade, setting them apart from other places. Despite the high prices typical of Boston, the taqueria is worth the investment, with a rating of 4 or higher in food quality, menu precision, service quality, and timing. However, the decor and accessibility are not as impressive, earning a rating of 3. Customers with dietary restrictions can order without cheese, and the taqueria is known for its delicious, freshly made hibiscus tea or juice. While some customers have reported issues with the temperature and flavor of certain tacos, the chilaquiles have also received advice on serving them warm with a generous amount of queso fresco. Overall, the experience at Taqueria El Barrio is positive, making it a popular destination for those seeking genuine Mexican cuisine in the Boston area.
