Prior to Covid closures, Chopps was one of our favorite, reliable restaurants. This was our first trip back since its recent reopening, and things have changed. The menu is now very ordinary and lacks imaginative touches we had formerly noted and appreciated. The service was good, and what we ordered was well prepared, but other restaurants are equivalent in a more appealing atmosphere.. Some problems - the room now more closely resembles a good pizza parlor than a well-appointed restaurant. The table tops are some strange laminate, and not attractive. The chairs are just okay. The whole ambiance is downbeat, because it feels like Marriott decided to cut the budget for the restaurant, resulting in something below Marriott standards. Unless the chef is allowed to have a more creative menu, there is really no reason to return. A once neighborhood gem is now just ordinary.
Just a Hotel restaurant not the best. Food ok but place was a little seedy. Service was good but they didn't have the drink on the menu we ordered. Lively time was the lady who fell off bar stool. Place could be better
Server was excellent. Took 45 minutes to have the food delivered. The restaurant was not full. Great bar for those that imbibe.
The lobster roll was mediocre. The Steak was wonderful! Juicy, flavorful and tender. The service was slow but kind.
Had a great experience here for Dine Out Boston. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional.
We didn't realize that the restaurant would be located in the middle of the hotel. The “Marriott Member Club” is located adjacent to the restaurant so, the entire time we ate, hotel guests were walking through to get their free cookies, snacks, waters, etc. One little boy was clearly being entertained before bed and allowed to get his energy out by running around the restaurant. Would not recommend to anyone that is not staying at the hotel and in need of a quick bite.
They had three people running the entire place at lunch hour, there was no soup prepared, and everything took a very long time to arrive considering what was ordered. That said, when I said that I wanted a French onion soup and it turned out they had none they kindly made me a minestrone just for myself. But it was a strange experience because this hotel was hosting multiple weekend-long conventions, and the restaurant was staffed with not nearly enough people. Staff did what they could, though.
Absolutely no need for a reservation . It's come as you are, seat yourself, serve yourself . Then, they hand you a bill before you're done . It's really just a hotel type breakfast but with a fresh omelet station. Coffee station is self serve with paper cups . You don't even get a real mug. All this is fine, if it's a free hotel breakfast but we came for a $25 brunch with a reservation
We had a great evening. Our waitress (I apologize I cannot remember her name) was truly amazing. Gave us sips of wine to test and honest opinions. Good evening!
This was our second year here. Our server, Mary, was amazing. She even remembered us from last year. The food is good and plenty of it. We are going to make this an annual. The only suggestion I would make is to lower the price a bit. Such a shame to throw out so much food.

We went for Mother's Day brunch. The food was not very good and the selection was limited.
The restaurant was way understaffed no hostess poor waitress was overwhelmed, and the food was not hot. Drinks were good. Ambience was good and they even had a girl singing there who was very good.
Fried calamari was one Big clump and Tasted like the oil was stale . Ran out of minestrone soup and Just brought clam chowder To us without Even asking.no bread on the table .just nothing to make me ever going back.
Dined out for date night at 6pm on Saturday night. Several other functions (wedding, quinceanera, etc.) were happening at the hotel, making parking a challenge, though none of the events interfered with the restaurant. Happy to see the restaurant honor their Dine Out Boston menu, which was reasonably priced. Although one of the appetizer options (soup) was sold out, the salad and fried calamari options were great. The amount of fried calamari was pleasantly surprising. Staff was very attentive and even pivoted gracefully after a miscommunication about the salad dressing preference, prompting a quick changeout of the salad. Main courses were the chicken parmesan and the steak, both of which were great. Dessert followed the first two courses. We both had the chocolate cake, which was delicious. Overall, a great experience. Would definitely recommend, especially with the Dine Out Boston 2025 menu.
My husband and I took advantage of the Dine Boston week (Feb23-March 15,2025). When we were seated at the table the Dine Boston lunch menu was completely different from what was posted on the Dine Boston website. Apparently it was the dinner menu which we liked but was posted for both lunch and dinner - a disappointment. The lunch menu was fine -we ordered the shrimp scampi - generous portion. The BEST part of the restaurant was the waitress, Theresa. She was the only waitress doing everything from being host, bar server and our server. Theresa was an amazing waitress. She was pleasant, calm, accommodating and attentive. Theresa literally ran the entire restaurant seamlessly. I HOPE management recognizes how valuable Theresa is to the organization. Without Theresa as our waitress, our dining experience would not be as enjoyable.
