Very nice little hotel for short stays.Big up to the gentleman at the reception who was always in a good mood each morning!Little rooms but all the needed amenities. I did not put 5 stars just because of the view from our bedroom which was on a wall :-(Great location ! 3min walk from the subway, 10min walk from MIT and 20min walk from Harvard !

Fusion American place with themes from all over the world - some were good, some not as much. The price seemed a bit high all things considered. The ambience was not to my taste but well decorated and cared for.

Room was clean, big and modern looking. Missed having a desk to work or eat. You use a code to access your room and mine, never failed me in the 5 nights I was there (which was a concern). There was someone in the reception area most days (which was also a relief) and when not there, the code on the front door of the hotel worked well. Location is great, less than a mile from MIT and many eating options in the neighborhood, including a great H-Mart and a small Target.

Quiet, close to restaurants and supermarkets and with a convenient subway to go to the centerRooms: Very comfortable, one defect.... coat rack instead of a closet and without the possibility of ventilation (windows without the possibility of opening)

I understand the concept but it’s not for us. The price was not much cheaper for what you do not get. Had I known about the short comings, I would have paid little extra for more traditional type of lodging. To request service for cleaning the room is 56 dollars additional each time. There are usually no additional towels available in the communal item area and honestly I didn’t want to bother anyone.Room was painfully small. We had two roller-boards and two personal carry items and pretty much couldn’t move anywhere in the room.Staff seems pretty friendly but again, I don’t like to bother anyone and don’t like to be bothered either. Their chat system does work well and responsive. It’s not imperfect though. This place did have the best WiFi and connectivity to the TV I have ever seen in all my years of traveling to the point it did feel like I was using a home network. It was down for maybe about 8 hours during my long stay which isn’t bad.The key system (which requires an app) is brilliant and worked flawlessly. I do wish you had the option to add it to wallet integrated in to the OS.I will not be looking to stay in any Sonder brand location anytime soon and while I don’t want to detract anyone from staying here, do your research. I was here on an emergency and did not have the time to do so.Rooms: Too small for if you are traveling with an additional person.

Great easy location for our visit to MIT and Harvard. An easy walk to both universities. The room was slightly smaller than it appeared in the photos, but was clean and modern and the bed was very comfortable.A very easy check in and out process and good recommendations for eating nearby. The VIM gym was an excellent option only 2 minutes away.Rooms: Clean and modern, but not big.Safety: Felt very safe in the neighbourhood.Walkability: 10 minutes to MIT and 20 minutes to Harvard Square. Also an easy walk to downtown across Harvard bridge and down Newbury Street to Boston Common.

The positive – great location if you want to be near central square, nice building, all the electronic entry etc worked fine, decent WiFi.The negatives – the spacious King was even smaller than what was advertised at about 180 sq feet vs the 199 on the website, the two windows in the photo were one window, and the view was of a dumpster in the back of the building. The ambience was further enhanced by being adjacent to seemingly every mechanical system in the building with a chorus of HVAC hums and surging water pipes. The room also featured extensive perfume application, enough to catch in your throat.I have stayed at a previous Sonder in Philadelphia which I liked both for location and spacious accommodation with amenities, but this one was just under par perhaps because I was dealt the worst room from the deck and that made every little other miss worse (the mattress pad that kept coming undone while sleeping, the plastic feeling sheets, the lack of any decaf coffee pods, the fact you can’t lower the temp beyond 68F even when it is 29F outside) just an additional irritant. All and all, a mediocre experience, except I enjoyed being in Cambridge.

Restaurant was closed, no gym or fridge on premise. On the plus side, location was great, the gym nearby has a deal with the hotel for a $10 day pass that was a great value, and the building was very nice. For what they can fit in the building, my only advice is to give folks mini fridges in the rooms. Worth the stay!

Great location (best vegan restaurant I have ever been to just a few steps away and I'm not even vegan!)- Room was very clean and a nice size. Super easy - and even though you dont need a front desk- there is one at this location and they were super nice and helpful. Parking garage down the block- very safe. And the BEST Ice Cream place EVERRRR next door!

For self-reliant and app/tech-savvy travelers, this was great. It's kind of no-frills luxury if that makes sense: lobby is nice, front desk folks friendly and informative, rooms are super comfy, wifi is easy and fast, shower is relaxing and luxuriant - but you order (and pay for) room cleanings via the app, the room keys consist of a code (or your phone, if it has NFC), there's no included breakfast or other meals, the attached restaurant/bar is closed at the moment, and basic amenities like TP/cups are in a self-serve cabinet on each floor. The TV has basic local/cable channels, and you can stream shows with whatever accounts through your phone using the Chromecast connection. For me the à la carte approach was a great way to spend a focused weeklong work trip, with a cozy place to myself at night for relaxing or working. Given the slight discount for a 7-night stay, Sonder was the best value for that level of quality among the available spots in a pretty expensive part of town. Also, they were very kind about my oversleeping the checkout time...Walkability: Within 10-15 walk of MIT, Kendall to Central Square, many stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. It's between the Kendall and Central Sq T stops.Food & drinks: Not hard to get basic nearby sustenance. Jaho Café is open till 11 and just around the corner. Beantown Taqueria and Cambridge Pizza, in the other direction, are open till 4am depending on the day.

I like the rooms and the location. The place is mostly unmanned but staff are friendly enough when they are there.
