Hostess was rude and standoffish! Restaurant was empty, plenty of reservations on open table and she told us nothing available. When I asked if it would help to make a reservation on OpenTable for 12, she said OK but I will see you closer to 12. We stood there and waited and then she sent us 10 minutes later closer to 12. No other tables got up. I cannot stress enough that the restaurant was empty. Then she spoke Spanish with another colleague, looking at us. Food took forever to come. The only order two dishes. Food was 10 out of 10.
The restaurant is nice and generally the food was great. The appetizers were awesome . My NY Strip however, wasn't good. Others in my party had other great meal options and were pleased. It is very loud.
Some of the best food I've ever eaten in my life and we eat out weekly. My 21 year-old son BC student athlete said the same thing and actually took a group of friends back for dinner the same night we had brunch! Although our server was kind and knowledgeable, the service was a bit inattentive did not match the elite level of the food. However, I'd give our experience a 4.5/5 and I can't wait to go back. I'll just be very assertive with my service requests.
Terrible service. Our drinks came out at different time and then we all received our entrees at different times which means some of us were FINISHED (we told them to eat so it wouldn't get cold) before others even got their meals! No apology, nothing. Food and drinks were very good.
Our first visit here and it was a pleasant surprise ! From the atmosphere, the vibe and decor, food presentation, the creativity of the ingredients in each dish, the flavors, the delicious tastes, aromas and the service, the server's knowledge of the menu. The pistachio kale salad was bomb! The Brussels were over the top, the drink with cantaloupe mint , papatas .. yummy!! it was a pleasure to find so many vegetarian and plant-based options , but also interesting carnivorous and fish choices for my meat and fish eaters dining with us. We drove from the Cape and we will be back. 🤤🤌 🥰
We have never been disappointed in Alden and Harlow! Thanks you for helping to make our family gettogether so special!
Wonderful warm service with the most welcoming vibe! Love the innovative food, plenty of vegetarian options and delicious innovation in every dish. Our server was truly excellent, looked out for us and food was paced perfectly. Don't miss the charred brocoli on hummus, and do consider trying the carrot pasta even if you wish it had meat on it. It's perfection. Kudos to the chefs for maintaining the excellence here.
Alden and Harlow is excellent! The food is great - but I also love the vibe. The people that work there are light and kind. We watched a customer have a weird meltdown that was not related to the staff doing their job, and the staff handled it well and seemed unaffected by it. The staff's attitude makes the atmosphere, so the customers connect and chat with each other. It was not just dinner. It was a lovely experience!
Absolutely delicious and creative dishes across the entire meal. Cannot recommend this spot enough, can't wait to come back.
Had made a reservation with the acknowledgement that it was our wedding anniversary, got zero acknowledgement or response that it was a special night for us in any way from the staff or kitchen, felt like a rushed dinner, and unfortunately, didnt seem like there was any communication between the host station and the servers. unfortunately, it was a less than enjoyable meal. the Broccoli was ok, the burger was good, but overall it just was a quality experience that we had hoped for. hopefully this was an anomaly, and not the norm.

Two of the dishes came quickly, and two took almost an hour to come. Salad under the bluefish was poor, and vegetables were tough. Unimpressed with most of the food.
This is the second time we've been to Boston and the second time we have eaten here. It was phenomenal both times highly suggested for brunch.
Food was terrible, almost inedible. Cold. Service was ok but not hugely attentive. I don't understand the other reviews. Will never go here again.
We ordered a few zero proof cocktails (including one they did not have on the menu but we found in an old article) - both were great. We also tried the dine out boston menu. I particularly liked the kale salad - just enough dressing, great balance of tastes and even a few kale chips on top to give it more textures. The salmon was great, too. My wife had the pickled corn pancakes that were served with popcorn that had some sauces underneath it and some peppers on top. We had to wait a while for these, but they were also excellent. We both had the bread pudding - it was more on the dark chocolate side but quite good as well. The service as a bit slower than I would have liked, but as noted above, she accomodated our special drink orders. I would love to go back!
The cocktails were amazing. We only order appetisers but we really enjoyed the food. In order of preference of what we ordered : 1. Broccoli 2. Focaccia 3. Patata bravas 4. A H burrata We absolutely loved tea ceremony cocktail. Great blend of cucumber and matcha
