I’ve never not taken food back with me after a meal, especially if it’s expensive. We didn’t finish 3 of the 4 things we ordered bc we couldn’t take another bite. It was so greasy and just not tasty. I don’t know how they have such high reviews, maybe we just ordered the worst 4 things on the menu but damn.. when they brought out the pickled corn pancakes with popcorn on the plate I had to stifle my laughter. Felt like a prank. Good for you if you like this place, but there’s SO many spots that are exponentially better in Boston for this price or less. The atmosphere was nice but improving the menu would make a HUGE difference. Waitress was very kind and sweet.

First time won’t be the last at Alden & Harlow! From the delicious rum and star fruit inspired cocktails to the array of tapas options it was a tremendous treat!Highly recommend the basil pasta, brussels and secret burger. So good I don’t know whether to order all of these again or continue to explore the menu that seems to be loaded with other great options.Great vibe and beautiful restaurant!

I came for brunch and although the service was wonderful, the food was so shockingly bad I feel compelled to leave a review. The carrot latkes, for $18, were 3 small, paper thin pancakes which were already soggy to begin with, then completely soaked in a molasses-like syrup that dominated any flavor they might have had. Then I ordered the “torched fruit,” which seemed interesting in theory, but when I received it, it was literally that - the chef had taken a blow torch to the fruit, buried the whole thing in white sugar, and called it a day (Perhaps it’s my fault for getting what I asked for). I am not sure what the intended effect was, but the actual effect it had was that the raspberries and strawberries were warm, mushy, sickeningly sugary and entirely nauseating. Has anyone in their life craved lukewarm strawberries? The thought process behind this dish seemed so crazy that I even asked my server if she had tried the torched fruit. She said she hadn’t. She was extremely nice and comped everything except the one item I ordered that was actually nourishing - the farm egg. What a sad experience to discover the thoughtlessness behind the food at such a supposedly well rated restaurant.

Food and atmosphere was so perfect for what we were craving! Last time we came was with a large group, so I think coming with only two people made it a much easier experience. We came during a very busy Friday night and were still able to quickly grab bar seats. Our bartender was very prompt and classy, and made delicious drinks! We started with the burrata on a cake-y bread topped with orange jam. This was probably my favorite dish of the night, perfect balance of sweet and salty. Then we had the carrots, which were crunchy and actually a pretty big portion for two people. Lastly, we tried the duck, which was delicious, but definitely wasn't the best cooked duck I've tried. I personally prefer well cooked meat and theirs was slightly undercooked. For dessert, we tried their plum cake. This felt like it could feed five people because of how dense it was, but it was super yummy. Overall, we had a great dinner here and I highly recommend the bar seating if you're going with one or two people!

Alden & Harlow is quite possibly the best culinary experience I've ever had. Each of the dishes I tried was evocative, transformative, and deeply fascinating in some capacity. You'll likely need to purchase 3-4 dishes for a party of 2 to leave comfortably full based on the portions they serve, but it serves as a fantastic reason to try more of their menu.

Really good experience!! We walked in during the Easter night. The Brussels sprout is excellent, it’s seasoned very similar to Thai food- Fish sauce, peanuts, and mint. Nice texture and umami flavour with refreshing herbs. The basil pasta is also great, nice carrot sauce, very interesting

Went here on a Thursday night with a friend and her family. The service was good and the decor is so cute!- a bunch of jarred pickled things everywhere. The menu is a bit expensive and the dishes are small- but the food was incredible!!!! My favorite thing was the BRAISED BEEF A LA PLANCHA, literally so tender and SO much flavor. The Brussels sprouts were also amazing. Lots of open bar seats and a good place for a date. Drinks were strong in a good way but again pricey. I will be back but maybe just for 1 or 2 things and a drinks!

Excellent food. Innovative variations on the classics. We enjoyed everything we had. The donuts were especially delicious. We kinda wished there were more egg dishes for brunch though. The place was much bigger than I thought. Great service. We will come again.

The food was out of this world!!! The pasta with the carrot bolognese was a little spicy and a little sweet. Even though I hate salad I tried there’s and it was so good I ate the whole thing. Definitely recommend for
